It’s you who is not giving St. Joe’s and Richmond enough credit. Anyone who plays lax well enough and has the academic resume to get into Hopkins are probably not deciding between Johns Hopkins and Richmond/St. Joe’s. Richmond and St. Joe’s don’t get as many “blue chips” but they get some real talented players and develop them into a terrific lacrosse team. They make do with less, and that’s a real credit to those two programs.
All these losing seasons, and you still don't get it. Probably never will. You better hope that Milliman doesn't think like you do.
Desko and Petro brought in the supposed early "Blue Chip recruits" that IL and the lacrosse know it alls said to recruit. Turns out? They were A recruits, sure.....but C to B player when they actually hit the D1 lacrosse field. In short: they recruited the wrong players, and never gave the kids who were actually better D1 players a look.

But if your proposition is that St. Joe’s and Richmond are directly competing for talent with the Hopkins, Dukes, Virginias, and Ivies of the world, that is simply not true as a general matter.
That viewpoint certainly explains why Hopkins and Duke are sitting at home, watching.
There are too many good players, Doc, and not enough spots at the programs you think are the cool schools. So the actual, real, Division I talent is landing elsewhere. Which means if the Tierney's, Desko's, Petro's, Tambroni's, et. al of the world aim, shoot, and miss with their recruit choices....
.....they're home watching the 1st round on TV. And the players they missed are playing for Richmond, St. Joes, and yes, Yale. It's beyond your comprehension that St. Joes has kids that would start at Hopkins. You think it's all coaching.
St. Joes isn't hanging with Yale late in the third with a bunch of chumps on the field, Doc.
But you don't want to hear this.
