During a Terps game earlier this year, I think it was Dixon that said the new strategy to beat the 10-man ride is just shoot from your end of the field, and have your guy backing it up. This is not rocket science.Wheels wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 3:19 pmAt a minimum, Gillman the damn thing and let your attack fight it out at the other end of the field instead of having possession after possession starting on your end of the field!MoralTerpitude wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 3:16 pmThat failed clear where Adler had no where to go, and ended up dumping in ten yards from his open goal, was inexcusable. They didn't cover themselves in glory for sure, but Duke easily has Final 4 talent. They still might get there, but that'd be even more of an indictment of how poorly they played in the regular season.keno in reno wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 2:53 pmThere a probably a few Carolina teams in consideration, maybe even a Cuse
What's Duke's offense, exactly? Stand around, wait for O'Neill to do something, wait for Montgomery to realize he's the best athlete on the field by multiple orders of magnitude?
Their inability to clear in the 2nd half was like watching a U12 team.

How many times while watching the Jays' clear, did I shout at the screen, "Just heave it at the goal!"?

Dino is very highly regarded and he is definitely a players coach. All that talent though and you have start to question his strategic coaching. If his team doesn't make the tournament, with all of that talent, it would be fair to ask some questions. Especially when the acc is having a seemingly down year.

The offense is bad. The defense isn’t much better. I remember when good offense and player development is what made Duke Duke….D coordinator parlayed it into a HC job at providence.1766 wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 6:33 pmDino is very highly regarded and he is definitely a players coach. Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
If Duke makes it, the loss likely knocked them out of a seed. Unless they get Brown or Cornell, I doubt they’ll make it out of the first round. Notre Dame on the other hand will not be a fun first round matchup. It’s quite possible none of the ACC teams will be seeded… man this is going to be one interesting selection show.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 6:53 pmThe offense is bad. if none of the acc conference teams are seeded, that may mean we're getting as many acc conf/ivy games as we've seen all year. even if one is seeded.MoralTerpitude wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 6:56 pmIf Duke makes it, the loss likely knocked them out of a seed. You think they are a lock for the NCAA bid? That would be an outlier opinion. We will see tomorrow. No doubt they will be sweating it out.wgdsr wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 6:51 pmlooking like we won't have to ask questions, then.1766 wrote: ↑Sat May 07, 2022 6:33 pmDino is very highly regarded and he is definitely a players coach. My best guess as of this moment, with Maryland up early. (I didn't see a proper Bracketology thread, feel free to move this post if there is one and I missed it.)

Richmond @ (4) Princeton
St. Joseph's @ (3) IVY WINNER
Brown @ (6) Rutgers
Ohio State @ (7) Virginia

tosu doesn't either and their profile is worse than uva's. it will be 4 ivy/1 b1g and / 3 acc.
or i'll be wrong and it'll be the most progressive committee of all time.

harvard (6) is just short.
Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
I know all of that. But Duke's problem isn't any lack of good stuff on their resume, it's the quantity of bad stuff. If Virginia had three 20+ losses, I wouldn't have them in the field either.
As for the Hoos themselves, no, it's not a stellar resume in a vacuum. But I think the twice-defending champs will get a little bit of a push from the committee -- that'd be in line with what we've seen in past years. I also think people tend to underestimate the value of avoiding bad losses; again, see why I'm more bearish on Duke's chances than some others. Objectively, Cornell shouldn't be seeded behind UVA, but I'm sticking to my guns that that's what might well happen.
Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
21 hours until the selection show and then the griping can really begin in earnest. Unless of course all us FanLaxers are in total agreement with the selections and seedings.

Re: 2022 D1 Selection Committe
It appears that DUKE will get most of the attention from the committee, with those members who favor the "strictly going by RPI" method insisting that they get in, and those members that are going with BAD losses method to keep them out.
WOW, that is brutal and 1 or possibly 2 of the following teams are going to be very unhappy:
Duke
ND
Brown
Harvard
OSU
Cornell
UVA
