Thunderstorms in the forecast from 11am till 10pm tomorrow. Not sure if moving up the times will help. Better get ready for a lot of starting and stopping. Not the greatest way to play the tournament. Saturday & Sunday a much better option IMO.

Ha, those Billy Baroo’s will be delivered next season..
I may jinx it but LYN just to athletic and they are full strength again. Think Taylor will be under siege. Only hope is for LYN shooting % to drop.. precipitously.

57 degrees with rain tomorrow. This season has been filled with cold games. Is lacrosse really a spring sport? The weather may impact the games and make an upset more realistic.

Ha. Someone was just joking that in youth, lax is a spring sport. In high school, lax is a spring/summer sport. But in college, lax is a winter sport

Rookie of the Year in my opinion is between:

Hillis Burns (A) W&L - Nifty scorer who has played a big role and put up solid points against all good opponents (York, Denison, Gettysburg, RMC, Noke, LYN)

And

Gaines Weis (SSDM) HSC - Incredible athlete that also plays a big role, never comes off the field and is very good at arguably the toughest position in the game.

Tomorrows matchup should be a deciding factor as it will be the last look at one of them regardless.

ODAC tournament does not play a factor in All-ODAC teams. All-ODAC was probably voted on this week already.

Kilfeather over Weis from HSC. Weis is great as well, but Kilfeather has the stats.

LSM with 6 goals on 10 shots, 55gbs, 17 CTs, and he's taken 242 face-offs (almost 40% win rate) as a freshmen LSM in the absence of HSC having a FO man this year.

Hillis Burns has 19 points in 10 games played. Thats pretty dang good for a freshmen. Scored 1 goal against York, Denison, Gettysburg, 3 against RMC, 1goal 2assists against Roanoke, 3 goals 2 assists against Lynchburg. Being on the #1 seed undefeated in ODAC play, nudge probably goes to him for ROTY award.

Burns, Kilfeather, Tankersly has an outside shot. That's it IMO.

I can see Kilfeather taking it due to playing every game, since Burns only has 10 games played and only 4 of those games were ODAC games.

Now I'm thinking Kilfeather get's it.

Semis Predictions

IMO - Not playing stiff competition in 5 weeks will hurt the gennies against a scrappy HSC team late in the year with nothing to lose.
HSC 13 - W&L 11

Gilbert has a big day and Noke keeps it a game for 3 quarters but Lynchburg’s deep roster will be too much to handle in the 4th.
(10+ guys got on the board in their last meeting)
LYN 17 - Noke 12

Prediction:
Drug bust at W&L sends lacrosse team reeling with several starters dismissed on game day.

HSC of course overplays their hand by hacking the loudspeaker and blaring “Cocaine” by Clapton as W&L take the field. Joke backfires and Generals route HSC to take on Rolatoke in the finals.

Final: Rolatoke:-17
W&L- 15

They may have a lead at the half but HSC is very much in this game. Once again shooting, fast break off the face off and right in front of the cage they can’t finish. They rush two other shots in front after that and don’t connect. They are playing solid D and moving the ball well on O but have to connect their shots. You don’t want HSC hanging around in the 4th. They need to step it up. Clagget has had 8 shots 2 on cage but he’s been playing from up top. Gotta limit his attempts he only had 7 shots in their last contest.
4-4 all tied going into the 4th. Who’s stepping up on the Generals offense?????
Huge error in the box on transition for the generals getting back on D, cost them they now trail.
Poor game by Generals 7 goals ? D holds them to 8 in OT have to question the decision not to give Witherell the ball at the end of regulation and never slowing down Clagget , shut him off how many chances are you going to give him .He had 12 shots on the day…. Credit to HSC but some poor decision making in the 4th and whoever was running the box.
At year end looks like the ODAC will in fact have only 1 top 20 team.

Anyone else having video connection issues for the HSC game? It freezes every 5-10 seconds for a second. Driving me crazy.
