Re: Transfer Portal 2023
There was significant attrition among seniors during fall and early spring. Senior Day included two 2022 grads, Borda (M) and Corasaniti (G) and three grad students --5th years Strough (M) and Labetti (FOGO) and grad transfer Mikey Drake (M).Henpecked wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 10:30 am5 of those guys on Fairfield, Tyler Wuchte, Trevor Ford, Brendan Dreyer, Brian Reda and David Dorsett were not even on the roster this year. They were all juniors in 2020 and evidently quit this year or were cut. Not sure why they didn't transfer last year. They were all recruited by the previous regime so that is not all that surprising.
Patrick Drake might have also quit the team after 9 games this year. His bio was removed from the team website after 9 games. Which is surprising since his brother Mikey transferred in this year from Notre Dame for a fifth year. Patrick had a nice freshman year with 21 goals and 10 assists, but his playing time diminished over the years.
Not sure if any of these guys will catch on with other teams. Maybe Borda?
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Burr wasn't even on the 22 roster. He was a freshman in 21. Seems like an odd time to try to get back into the game. Taub was a big recruit who was coveted by a number of schools. One of those enigma's as to why he couldn't earn any time. Good luck to both of them.InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 8:56 pm Add

Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Burr was originally committed to Air Force before switching to Rutgers, his game was not a good fit for Rutgers. Taub was The defenseman of the year in NJ in 2018 (same class as Russo). he could never get out of BB doghouse but he is a great teammate and good kid and he would be a good player in the right system.1766 wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 4:26 pmBurr wasn't even on the 22 roster. Confirmed Hincks is heading to Georgetown. Adds to their already strong defensive unit. Excited to see what he does with a real group of defenders in front of him.MaxPen wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 10:21 pmI had heard rumors Hinks was headed to G-Town but again 'rumors'Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 5:10 pmHe’s headed to Duke.pcowlax wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 4:55 pmThey have a highly regarded sophomore on the roster but one way he could be the next Adler is by replacing….Adlerbearlaxfan wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 3:33 pm Lots of talent available, but Hincks could really end up at a legit natty championship hopeful à la Adler. Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Interesting landing spot...Georgetown's freshman goalie Scharfenberger is nearly 60% on the year and played quite well in his three spot starts when McElroy was out. I'd have thought they'd be happy with him starting next year. Guess not.
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Can't hurt to have competition. Scharfenberger will still have his junior and senior year if he doesn't get the starting spot next year. Also, I know its hard to believe, but things like career opportunities and educational program fit also go into a student-athletes decision on where to attend. He may have wanted to go to Gtown regardless. That's why Bowen is not still at UNC.

Re: Transfer Portal 2023
How big of an advantage is there for teams who are done for the year re: getting a head start on guys in the portal?
Would guess Cuse and UNC can get a leg up

Re: Transfer Portal 2023
Dordevic did an interview the other day. Said his phone is blowing up and believe he has hinted he wants a shot at a championship. That is a small pool. He can’t go to the Ivy’s or Patriot’s because of their grad transfer rules. Does he stay in the ACC?
Re: Transfer Portal 2023
if his feelings toward cuse are genuine then he probably doesn't want to stick it to them by joining up with an ACC rival like UVA or Duke
so no ACC, Patriot, or Ivy, and (presumably) wants a shot at a title. that pretty much narrows it down to Maryland or Georgetown

Re: Transfer Portal 2023
I’m guessing not much. It was announced during the playoffs last year, while they were still playing, that Notre Dame had brought in four transfers from Patriot League teams. It’s probably more of an advantage for the kids from Syracuse and UNC, since their season is over and they can enter the portal early.

What does 'stick it to them' mean? Picking a grad school is a lifetime decision; why would he exclude great schools like Duke, UNC, UVA and Notre Dame because he wouldn't want to stick it to them?HopFan16 wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 1:07 pmif his feelings toward cuse are genuine then he probably doesn't want to stick it to them by joining up with an ACC rival like UVA or Duke

Any reason why Johns Hopkins shouldn’t be going after this guy?

Importantly, Huber looks comfortable working inside and can operate in close quarters.

Plus, he’s a good student (Big East All-Academic team).
Any reason why Johns Hopkins shouldn’t be going after this guy?

What makes you think he can’t compete against top tier teams?

Did you look to see when the production occurred?DocBarrister wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:38 pmHuber scored 2 goals against Rutgers, 3 goals against Villanova, 1 goal/1 assist against Denver, and 3 goals against Georgetown.LongIslandLacks wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 11:15 pmIs there a roster cap at Hopkins? That’s one reason not to go after a guy at a third tier program who you don’t know will be able to compete.DocBarrister wrote: ↑Fri May 06, 2022 6:54 pmHuber played for a pretty bad team but still scored 40 goals. Was productive against the better teams on the schedule. Small at 5ft 8in. He’s a lefty and his shots superficially resemble Degnon’s.HopFan16 wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 3:45 pm St. John's leading scorer Jonathan Huber enters, per IL

Edit I just quickly checked.
Rutgers - 1st goal 5min into the 3rd to get to 3-9, second goal was with 7 seconds left to close the gap to 23-6.
Villanova - Better w 2 first quarter goals. 3rd goal came w 2:50 left to tighten the contest up to 20-8
Denver - Narrowed it to 12-2 6 min into the 3rd with his goal. (Assist in 1st)
GTown - 2 in first half, late in Q1 to get off the bagel at 6-1, second early in Q2 to make it 7-2 (still a game sort of). 3rd goal end of 3rd to get to 19-4.
Not picking on him but when you’re getting blasted by a season average that’s double digits the timing of goals does come in different circumstances.
Maybe he can play but I’m guessing many of those goals were of little to no consequence to the opponents.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah
