Re: Ivy League 2022
Brown goalie Connor Theriault, Yale attackman Leo Johnson and Harvard attackman Austin Madronic make the latest USILA Team of the Week. This team has six attackmen, one defenseman and two offensive midfielders; I'd prefer to see three defenders, only three attackmen, a LSM, SSDMs etc. Oh well.

Re: Ivy League 2022
Additionally, Brown is in ILT in all 8 scenarios according to the league press release. The scenario where Brown, Princeton, and Cornell all lose is the one that is most confusing. In that scenario, Brown and Penn (in 4-way 3-3 tie w Pr and HU) would be in if the tie-breaker were performance against Cornell and Yale at 4-2 (as Brown beat them both, Penn was 1-1, and HU and PU both would be 0-2). If it were straight up head-to head amongst those 4 teams at 3-3, PU and HU should be in at 2-1 (with Penn and Brown both at 1-2). If anyone has a cite to the ILT tiebreaker criteria, that would be helpful to see. It appears CU77 and the IL must be using different criteria.bearlaxfan wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 10:56 am Here's the IL website take. Note 2 Brown possibilities to host. Slight difference from CU77.

The last scenario is not right. Brown hasn't clinched an Ivy League spot. Chris Jast on Twitter wrote up something really good on all the conference scenarios. https://www.collegelacrosse.net/post/me ... c-nec-2022
SCENARIO #5: Cornell, Dartmouth, Yale win
Cornell (4-2) (Beat Yale)
Yale (4-2) (Lost to Cornell)
Harvard (3-3) (2-1 against Brown, Penn, and Princeton, beat Princeton)
Princeton (3-3) (2-1 against Brown, Harvard, and Penn, lost to Harvard)
Brown (3-3) (1-2 against Harvard, Penn, and Princeton, beat Penn)
Penn (3-3) (1-2 against Brown, Harvard, and Princeton, lost to Brown)
Cornell beat Yale in the regular season, meaning Cornell is the top seed and Yale is the two seed.
For the final two spots, we get a four-way tie between Brown, Harvard, Penn, and Princeton. Harvard and Princeton are 2-1 against the three teams they faced, while Brown and Penn were 1-2. The Crimson defeated the Tigers last week, giving Harvard the three seed and Princeton the four seed. Brown is five and Penn is six, both out.

I like this scenario. If Princeton and Cornell losing keeps them out, then they should agree to avoid losing by tying when they play each other this weekend.Charlie Don't Surf wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 1:33 pmAdditionally, Brown is in ILT in all 8 scenarios according to the league press release. Well these come straight from the Ivy League office, which gets the final say.
https://ivyleague.com/news/2022/4/26/iv ... arios.aspx
They're interpreting "record against the highest seeded team outside the tie" differently than I did, and I don't understand their interpretation.

I posted the IL workup from my phone while running errands so wasn't able to look into it, but it doesn't seem right to me either.CU77 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 12:37 am Well these come straight from the Ivy League office, which gets the final say.

I don't assume the website is gold when it may just be the result of... "get intern Chad to crunch and publish our tiebreak scenarios..."

This might be game of the year. I don't want it to end
Re: Ivy League 2022
Well it ended with a Yale man-up goal in OT.
So it's
No. 1 Brown, No. 2 Cornell, No. 3 Yale, No. 4 Penn
Harvard's season likely over.

Re: Ivy League 2022
Two more absolute classics in Ivy action today -- Cornell takes the must-win game over Princeton and Yale comes from behind twice in the fourth quarter to outlast Harvard in OT. Thanks to our friends in Ithaca winning to punch Yale's ticket to the ILT, I got fewer gray hairs than I might have watching the Harvard-Yale game go down to the wire. Both teams absolutely left it out on the field -- and talk about a game of millimeters -- Harvard hit a pipe that would have put them up by 2 with 2:30 to play, Yale gets possession goes down and scores the tying goal.
Gutting, I know, for Harvard, particularly with an ILT bid on the line and having lost Kyle Mullin to injury for the latter part of the game -- they've been incredibly impressive this year and today was no exception. As Carcaterra said on the broadcast, this Harvard team and program isn't going anywhere -- Gerry Byrne was a great hire and with the young talent they have there's much more to come.

Re: Ivy League 2022
IL site final standings listed by a) conf record then b) overall record, no tiebreak account taken, so I'm extrapolating that 5= Harvard & 6= Princeton. H>Pr in-season
If I'm correct do you think we can still potentially get 6? Can you take 6th place Pr but leave Hvd home, or take Hvd & leave #2RPI Pr home?!?!
Depends on other conferences of course, but next Sun bracket show will be must-see-tv.
