Desantis counted exactly zero votes. He was not even a direct supervisor of vote counting. And the Florida system for dealing with votes almost all predates his term in office.
Part of the reason there is essentially no actual voter fraud (at a level that makes ANY difference) is the distributed nature of voting and counting.
Gee, facts are troubling to ole Petey.
Just checking, your "facts? or actually facts grounded in realism?
Joe
I must have missed that class in school on "realism"...seems to me that DeSantis didn't count ANY votes...if theres a "realism" issue with that statement, feel free to share. The rest of Red's statement are also facts, quite refuting Petey's trolling BS...but hey, "realism"...
How about actually trying to add something substantive to the discussion, Joe?...you know, 'keeping it real'...
You have a real level of hatred for the Governor of the State you frequent for many weeks out of the year. That's what we people who live in reality, out of touch. Not surprised.
Joe
These
’s need it all spelled out. I wasn’t suggesting that Desantis does the actual counting
I was pointing out that he’s the chief executive of the 3rd largest state in America which cleanly and timely handles it’s vote-counting (even electing Democrats!!). You’d think he’d get a little credit. But MD is so invested in this bizarre anti-conservative kick, he can’t even give Desantis credit on this accomplishment, ‘cause he’s a fascist’…
+1
Joe
You guys are a trip.
Joe, was that supposed to be "substance"?
No, my feelings about DeSantis are nowhere near 'hatred'. I simply am opposed, strongly, to his being given power, because I believe he will aggressively abuse such power at each step. Right now, IMO, he's abusing his power as Governor and, given more power that abuse will only expand. Whether at the State or worse at the Presidential level.
Yes, I think he's an authoritarian, a populist panderer, who focuses on dividing rather than uniting. Yes, "fascist". I contrast that approach to my own Governor, Hogan, who has governed as a conservative but who has found ways to unite, avoiding pandering divisiveness for the most part. I'm glad to have supported him. Should a Dem succeed him, I hope the same sort of approach will be used. It makes for general good governance.
And no, Petey, DeSantis had no ability, no power, to interfere with the vote count...had he had such power, however, his other actions indicate that he would have no ethical reluctance in doing so. He's been granted additional powers in redistricting and his gerrymandering strains the very worst such power plays. No ethics at all, power is all. and the reason why Florida didn't have accusations of mass voter fraud was that Trump won. There were no such loud claims in states Trump won, only the BS where he lost. So, he does not get credit for that.
Hey Joe, if you really think that diverse opinions aren't on fan lax, just look at this discussion.
