Thanks for doing the leg work, here, JW. I know that you have been a big believer in Brown all season and I get it that there are all sorts of overlapping wins and losses with common opponents at this point in the season, but I am struggling with how a 5-4 Penn team is ranked above 7-4 Brown when they lost to the Bears last weekend 12-10 in Philly. Penn has only two high quality wins (Duke & Cornell) while Brown has high quality recent wins over Penn and Yale. (I don't think that Penn's Harvard win is going to stand up as a high quality W.) For that matter, I am also not seeing 5-4 Notre Dame earning a spot above Brown. ND's wins are against 1-8 Detroit Mercy, 7-6 Michigan (losers of six straight), 4-8 Syracuse, 10-5 Duke and 4-8 Marquette. I have a little less of a gripe with 7-3 Yale being ranked seven spots above 7-4 Brown after having just been destroyed by the Bears 20-13, but there's a pretty good argument to be made that Brown deserves a higher ranking than the Elis.

Not trying to take pot shots at your poll since, unfortunately for Brown, it is likely to be close to the "real" polls this week. Just food for thought.

CO, what makes it tough is the head to head where Yale beat Brown, but Cornell beat Yale, but Penn beat Cornell and on and on.
Brown is the hottest and playing the best Lax in the Ivies right now and their game against my beloved Big Red next Saturday will pretty much determine both teams fate nationally and in the ILT.
So many teams are so close that doing these rankings is brutal.

This is probably a typo, but Brown beat Yale, not the other way around. Just seems a little weird that Brown beat Penn and Yale in the past 8 days but is ranked below both of them.

Yup, DA, Brown State likes playing with a chip on their shoulder.

Joewillie, you’re forgetting Brown has no Tewaaraton finalists, no Inside Lacrosse pre-season or mid-season all Americans, and no Blue chip 5 star recruits on the roster. No way they have the horses for top 5 let alone top 15.

They have 4 top 10 RPI wins. Not even Maryland can say that. Hard to drop them too far (they went from 2 to 3 in my poll).

I agree with you that Princeton should be ranked ahead of Brown, based mostly upon their head-to-head win. The media poll disagrees, perhaps showing some recency bias since Princeton has cooled while Brown has heated up.

I am finding it almost impossible to rank teams after #1 Maryland and #2 GTown. Everybody has beaten someone that beat them etc. IMHO At this point only Gtown can compete with Maryland. I will rank 3-20 based on how much I like or hate the coaches and who's mascot would beat up the other schools mascot.

The polls, and actual probable NCAA selections and seedings
are diverging pretty severely,

I don’t see ND getting a seeding as the numbers stand now,
which the polls imply.

They are #10 RPI right now, so good chance this could happen. And I agree. Plus, they'll probably be unseeded, so who knows who they will get matched up against (outside of #1 or #2 seeds).
