Looks like this is on the B1G Network. I got the game-time from the Maryland website, so looking at an early lunch to start this game.

I'll be rooting for Maryland, because the opponent is Northwestern.

You probably saw most of my thoughts on the other thread, but also, if NU's defense does that weird thing they did in the 2nd half against Cuse, where they pressured way out beyond the 12, I think Maryland will pick them apart. On the flip side, I think Maryland plays it safe & stays closer to the 8 for quicker slides.

Not sure final score but I’m thinking NU win. Sorry ;)

No apologies necessary. I'm a Syracuse fan; such a loss probably, in the weird world of NCAA seeding, helps my team. Still, I always like to see NU lose.

I think on the other thread we all gave NU the edge on the draws. Also want to add to that discussion that Dwyer is also a pretty elite draw taker. Haven't seen her much this year, likely in part because KAH likes to keep her cards close to the vest. But she's a pretty great Plan B that they've kept under the radar.

I did forget to factor in Dwyer, but yes I had the NU edge on draws as well, and more so now considering Dwyer.

Any idea where #3 recruit Demma Hall has been ? Not that she's not physically with the team but hasn't played since 3/5. Is Lipkin the freshman getting the most playing time ? Always curious how the highly ranked players fair on their respective teams.

Quick memory on Dwyer...I remember her in HS at a tourney in VA against SSSAS when SSSAS was a legit top 5 team in the country and Dwyer's HS team was still relatively unknown and not a top 20 team. The very well known and highly regarded SSSAS coach had her team literally stall the last 10 mins of the game because they did not want to put Dwyer back on the draw circle. She literally won 100% of DC's that game.

Current DC tally for NU

Girardi 142
Gilbert 39
Smith 29
White 28
Dwyer 25

Next closest has 6

I was there....D played for Robinson in that Spring Fling tourney....Dwyer was almost unstoppable in that game.

I do sometimes chuckle at KAH's strategies, but the fact that she (almost) made everyone forget about a player who's sitting at a nice round 400 career DC... she's a tricky one, that KAH.

She's healthy and available. Tough to crack the rotation at MD as a freshman especially with all the transfers. Yes Lipkin is the only freshman getting meaningful minutes.

Glad to hear she's not injured and I imagine it's tough to crack most of these rosters as freshman. Hope to see more of her next year.

I saw a lot of Lipkin in the summer and fall of 2020 on the New Jersey under armor under class team. Don’t think I had seen her before that. She was the best player on that team. Unfortunately, she had some injuries last spring and missed a lot of games. I hope she is now 100%. If she is, she is a force of nature.

Hahaha...still can't get past that 2012 National Final, can you?  Blame Gary for that. He had the better team by far and should have established their superior team from the beginning. However, he tried to outcoach KAH...and no one beats NU like that. When your team is physically better than Kelly's, just go out and pound them. If not, you'll take the L.

I know, like and respect both coaches. My take is I see a high scoring game and the advantage is for Maryland simply because of Emily Sterling in Goal. However, if Madison Doucette has a solid day(50%), then NU will win.
