Previous high goal count was a 29 - 3 win against Loyola in 1959 on a sunny Wednesday afternoon in late May...
There was the lightning delay during the 2005 semis vs. UVA. Best lightning storm in Hopkins lacrosse history.

Also in Philly (at the Linc (Lincoln Financial Field)) was the storm delay against UVA in the semifinal.
And it was a pretty serious storm.
Edit: Missed it by that much.

Anybody know what upset Tramboni? It was right after Hopkins saved an over and back, but I thought the defenseman kept his feet on his side of the field.

He was mad that the ball allegedly hit the back of the player's stick, which would technically count as a "possession" and thus be an over and back. If that is the rule, I have *never* seen it adjudicated that way in practice.

Coach Tramboni embarrassed himself and his program/ Even if he is right, get over it.

Yet another penalty on Hopkins. :?

Blue Jays are playing with fire.

You can be aggressive on defense without incurring a penalty.

Actually no. He was right. He knew the rule and the official did not. The player technically had possession. Should have been an over and back call.

yeah, some of these penalties are obvious. If he doesn't extend his arms, its a play-on.

Pouring at Homewood, just cool and windy here less than five miles away. Six goal lead should be enough now.

Good first 2.5 quarters, ugly after the lightning delay. I'll give them a pass.

Hope Narewski is ok. Callahan excellent in fill-in duty.

Degnon is good at lacrosse.

DeSo with 6 dimes. Love to see that.

Guess we'll see PSU at Homewood again in two weeks?

We're onto the Terps. :(

MVP is Logan Callahan, who won 18 of 23 faceoffs. I’m not sure the Blue Jays would have won this game if he hadn’t been so dominant on faceoffs.

Blue Jays were perfect on clears! :o

Defense played well, especially on man-down situations.

Love the 12 CTs, but way too many penalties tonight.

Career day for DeSimone with six assists. Nice to see Epstein scoring goals again. He had a hustle goal, as well as a “hockey assist” when DeSimone assisted Angelus late in the game.

Sorry, but Jack Keough did not play the smartest game tonight. Lots of ill-advised shots (1 of 9 shooting) including a shot from the left alley when it might have been better to eat another 30 seconds off the clock.

Probably the best overall performance this season, albeit against a (now) 3-9 Penn State team.

Blue Jays should have the mindset that they can beat Maryland next week. They will need to beat Maryland at least once (and probably twice) if they want to make the NCAA tournament. A long shot? Sure, but what do they really have to lose at this point.

Assuming their going all in, Canadian style, here.

They should take a look at this guy, a monster, Edge lacrosse of course.
He'd need to spend a couple summers working footwork in Tucker Durkin's camps.

Worth a look.

A giant defenseman who’s slow and looks like his feet are in cement? I’m sure they will take a pass.

Good win for the Jays. Hopefully it gives them a little confidence boost heading into the playoffs. MD game could get ugly but I think JHU keeps it within 4-5.

They're in on that style for offense, not defense. Their defensive recruits so far are all American — a bunch from Long Island, a couple who play at Deerfield and then a few from upstate NY.

That said, they are bringing in a few kids from Canada who may end up playing SSDM/two-way middie in college. But Canada has a long history of producing those types of players so that's nothing new.

It's nice to hear the drumbeat for Scott Smith starting to pick up on each broadcast. The kid really is a freakish athlete. Szuluk had 4 CTs. Way, way too many penalties on the defense though. Man-down play was solid but we're lucky that PSU just doesn't really have the offensive talent right now to capitalize. Maryland obviously does.

BTW, clearing was perfect last night. Will have to be again if we have any hope of pulling off the miracle upset next weekend.

At lightening delay, ESPNU cut to BOWLING?! Am I correct, Hop assisted on 12 of 13 goals?
