Re: Ivy League 2022
When was the last time that Cornell and Harvard squared off with both teams ranked in the top 10?

Yeah, I mean, that's what I was thinking.
Re: Ivy League 2022
I think never is likely. 2014 was the last time Harvard made the NCAAs, and end-of-season RPI was Cornell #10 and Harvard #16.

Running through the Cornell records, it looks like never is the right answer. Closest calls:CU77 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 1:11 pm I think never is likely. 2014 was the last time Harvard made the NCAAs, and end-of-season RPI was Cornell #10 and Harvard #16.

1978: Cornell was #1 and Harvard was #12. Big Red won 18-10.
1979: Cornell was #2 and Harvard was #14. Big Red won 5-3.
Special mention to 1990: Cornell was #9 and Harvard was #18. The Crimson won 12-11 and went on to have a 12-3 season and #5 seed at the NCAAs.
Not to bring up bad memories, in 2014, Cornell was #2 when they met Harvard. The Crimson were 4-4, but handed Cornell their first loss of the year and the Big Red season spiraled.
Re: Ivy League 2022
With Brown's win over Penn the dreaded 5 way 4-2 tie for the ILT is no longer a possibiity. I imagine four teams at 4-2 at the top of the league is still available.

Penn is done.

Not yet. If Cornell stumbles, Penn can still get in at 3-3. 2-4 may also be possible.
“I wish you would!”

Can we put to bed the Harvard hype ?

I have nothing against Harvard. February lacrosse was a long time ago. Not a top 20 team.

Maybe not a top 10 team. Young.
But the Ivies are far better than expected. CU is very good.
on this game, HU needs to win more of the 50:50 plays and they need to run their offense through the attack instead of everything out front. The middies are wasting the opportunities.

Re: Ivy League 2022
Harvard managed to beat Brown with a huge FO disadvantage though Brown’s shooting was terrible (like it was in umass and Princeton games). Harvard is good. And consistent. Brown is not. Not sure what to think. Ivy league is ridiculous.
Re: Ivy League 2022
4-2 now guarantees an ILT spot.
Re: Ivy League 2022
No! The honeymoon is over. Harvard will lose out.I just watched UMASS in person today. Who beat Brown 10–7. I’m not seeing it. The Ivys are good, but I think things will calm down.middleAgedBear wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 5:10 pm Harvard managed to beat Brown with a huge FO disadvantage though Brown’s shooting was terrible (like it was in umass and Princeton games). I wouldn’t bet against this.joewillie78 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 09, 2022 5:49 pmOr can we concede that Cornell is a great, not good, but great team and can challenge for a NC?
