In the rankings, what is up with Notre Dame? How are they ranked so high?
In RPI? They’ve played 8-0 Maryland, 6-3 OSU, 7-1 UVA, I think 7-1 GTown. That opponent wins % component is crazy high rn

time will tell...but the ACC teams have some catching up to do. The Ivy's might eat each other up...but if it's all spread out and everyone has a decent record end of season, they should get 4 in. This will be the fun as the season goes on.

I think it's great the league has had the resurgence it has over the past 3-4 years.

The ACC teams beat each other up every single season and it only helps their RPI and SOS. The Ivy's should get the same benefit this season.

Brandau and King are the winners. Both Baltimore area MIAA, right? King is a Gilman alum? The article says Mass for Brandau, but I was sure he's Boys' Latin in Maryland. Anyway, Paquette did not even get an honorable mention, which I find surprising. Their goalie love suddenly dried up after three straight weeks?

Got to be a Bulldog for Player of the Week this week, right? Unless Brandau and Paquette split the votes, Oscar style.
It'll be interesting. They've named two goalies recently, and, by any measure, Paquette had a lights out day. Sometimes the league only looks at production and not strength of opponent, in which case Sam King might take it. For ROW, I'd be surprised if Lyons was not named. He did well in Yale's comeback effort against Cornell, and is a true rookie.
Good point on Sam King — plus, I hadn’t factored in the great Harvard win over ranked BU. A hat trick in that game plus 9 points against Dartmouth is quite a resume. Maybe King as POW and, as you suggest, Lyons as ROW.
Is King not a first year?

BTW, they need to have a chat with their stats guys, that last goal vs BU by Cheek was off of a strip ride, GB and pass to the crease by King, as I recall. 1:30 on this recap video. https://gocrimson.com/news/2022/3/22/me ... ctory.aspx

Nineteen saves is equal to or greater than Peters or Ierlan had for the award (I don't have the stats in front of me). Brandau had a great game, as did King. The selectors were spoiled for choice this week.

Yes, Brandau is a Boy's Latin alum, King is a Gilman alum.

Lutherville-Timonium is in Maryland, right outside of Baltimore...where I live.

In his top 20 ranking, published yesterday, Quint throws in this little nugget under Yale: "The top seed in the Ivy gets to host the league tournament on Friday May 6 and Sunday May 8. The NCAA Tournament Selection Show airs later that evening." The top seed in the Ivy gets to host the league tournament! I assume Quint talks to people and people talk to Quint. So when will the League announce this??

Yeah, I noticed that QK nugget too. Not sure if he has inside info, or if it's just something he thinks might be true. I lean towards the former though.

If the decision has been made, it's ludicrous that it's not yet announced.

Paquette made the USILA Team of the Week. Possibly a greater distinction.

Yale 11-9 at the start of the 4th. Will Penn get the sun advantage now?

Heck of a game In Hanover today between Cornell and Dartmouth. Credit to Cornell for grinding out an 8-7 win in the end, but very impressed by the fight Dartmouth put together. Game balls to Adler from Cornell and Hincks from Dartmouth. From my personal perspective, Adler was as elite as any poll I have seen in many years. Incredible takeaway check ability and a GB machine. As for Hincks, wow on some of those saves, real stud in between the pipes there. Good for Cornell to put some space between them and Brown/Harvard in the Ivy tournament race, and the rest of the league better not write off Dartmouth the rest of the way.

Penn needs to have Rubin shooting mid/low to high out of the sun on the right side.

Penn needed to take care of the ball. Been risking takeaways all day with telegraphed passes. Made General Grievous Handley pay…

Deserved to lose with that slack play. Better tighten up, Quakers!!
