This is starting to feel like that Seinfeld episode, “Let the man make his soup, Elaine!“
Re: FanLax Forum Poll
I was semi-jesting initially but, in reality, it's kind of unfair to Loyola have to be the only team carrying an anchor. Maybe you could still post your Rankings within the Forum.

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
This is true. Not that any of these teams really fit that bill, but after visiting Loyola the Tigers have Stony Brook and Maryland at 1952. Three big tests coming up. After that, the Ivy League Championship will be a formality of sorts and then we'll see where Princeton lands in the NCAA seedings...seacoaster wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 7:48 pm ...the defense is a good unit, although not challenged by a real scoring power yet.

How is the FanLax Forum poll arrived at? Is it an amalgamation of all the member picks?

Yes, these three games are, in some respects, the crucible of Princeton's regular season. They do appear to be the class of the Ivy League this year (although, geez, Cornell kept it close). I think they are well matched with Loyola and expect a tough game for both teams.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 6:49 amThis is true. Re: FanLax Forum Poll
You’re right, assuming they stay calm and get through their Ivy schedule without a hiccup, these next three games, Loyola, Stony Brook and MD will have a HUGE impact on any potential seeding, if they get wins in any of these three they will feasibly be up into the top 6.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 6:49 amThis is true. It wouldn’t surprise me if we saw a first/second round NCAA tournament featuring something like a Fairfield / Rutgers and Princeton type of matchup..

This is precisely my point. Humans do stupid human stuff...crazyhorse wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 5:49 pm ... my recollection from past posts is that DT has recused himself from voting for Loyola. Other 5 pollsters had Loyola between 6 and 8, so call them a 7, not a 10 - slots them just ahead of Stony Brook.

No worries. I will recuse myself, as I have a conflict....FanLax Computer wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 9:31 amThis is precisely my point. Re: FanLax Forum Poll
Recusing yourself from the Forum Poll makes sense but... You'll still post your Loyola-less Ranking within this thread?

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
By the way – how is the FanLax Forum Poll arrived at? Do you combine all the member polls to make the FanLax Forum poll?
Re: FanLax Forum Poll
Yes. 25 Points for a 1st place vote, 24 points for a 2nd place vote, etc. until 1 Point for a 25th Place vote. Team with the most points gets the Forum Poll 1st Place, 2nd most gets 2nd, etc.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Thu Mar 24, 2022 11:49 am By the way – how is the FanLax Forum Poll arrived at? Re: FanLax Forum Poll
1. UNC -- beat up a couple of teams.
2. BC -- looked lackluster to me against Pitt.
3. Syracuse -- trounced Temple (which tells you something about the distance between the top four or five and the rest of the Universe). Oh, why No. 3? See below.
4. NU -- beat Michigan by three in Ann Arbor, and made me think, well, Syracuse is better, and I went to school there, and it's my poll, so Syracuse moves up.
5. Loyola -- good win over a tough Princeton team, and some practice against BU. I think they have a good chance at the Dome tomorrow. So why is Syracuse No. 3? Because it's my poll.
6. Princeton.
7. SBU -- just plugging along. Date with Loyola coming up.
8. Duke -- yep, up to No. 8. Nice win on a frigid day in South Bend.
9. Denver. This is the team no one is going to want to play in the NCAA tournament. Physical, tough, and well-coached. .
10. Maryland -- still here in the top ten, even with the loss to JMU. But this loss exposed the Terps as a team deeply reliant on the performance of one or two people.
11. Rutgers
12. Michigan
13. JMU -- getting better every week. A good week and they will move up in my poll.
14. Florida
15. V-Tech. Got pounded by Syracuse and UNC. So what?
16. Virginia
17. Notre Dame
18. Colorado
19. USC
20. UConn
