Wonder if Gunty could have been a go on a dry track. Not a bad effort in 1st period given the fo issue. Theriault looks good, SB goalie made a couple nice stops.

How to win when you lose faceoffs 5-16: to's, to's on clears, saves. If Bruno can bottle that 3rd quarter, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Refs let 'em play (wet-and-cold, no blood no foul, keep clock moving), think both teams had legit complaints on a few calls. (ETA: more accurately, non-calls.) Good win.

Hats off to Theriault (18 saves) and the Brown D and ride.

Remarkable 2nd half turnaround by Brown complemented by CT’s 18 saves and McLane’s 5 scores ….desultory first half followed by a dynamic second one….keeps the Bears in the teens in the polls…confidence builds heading to Harvard …good coaching ….aggressive 2nd half play….beat the AE’s best player, goalie and FO….and maybe best team…..Yeboah and his speed contributed on the clears …not sure he’s the one to run out the clock ( ex all-state running backs like to try to run thru double teams too often)…….weather was miserable- Brown’s 2nd half play anything but….

Looks like the Omid rotation is firming up: 4, 42 as A, 20, 23 as B with 37, 44 as mix&match, although they all shuffle a bit as some stay on for D. Not sure 26 saw the field today. Of course anyone with lower body issues would be an extreme risk with today's weather.
Still pretty much static with the starting 3 at attack & close D.
SSDM & LSM are a cast of thousands, but all seem at least adequate. When was the last time Brown had that kind of depth? Starsia years, if ever?

Welcome back to Counselor, the Baron of Brown State, the Earl of the Ellipse! Ivy lax commentary wouldn't be the same without you. bearlaxfan had me worried.

Really impressive win for Brown -- Theriault looks like a winner, that's for sure, and even more impressive with the disparity in face-offs (hopefully Brown's #1 FO man isn't out for too long).

Really excited for the Harvard game this weekend. Should be terrific. Both teams facing off at less than 50%. Whoever is able to win the FOX battle will have an advantage. Glad Brown got to play in the rain last SAT, given the weather outlook for SAT in Cambridge. Intra-league IL lacrosse for the first time since 2019. Can't wait!

Rain. Again. Surface at Harvard Stadium is field turf.
Johnnies fo at 39%, clear at 79%. Goalie above 50% except in OSU loss.
Given: Byrne, I expect good D. They contained Michigan. Other wins vs NJIT & Fairfield.

Is the scouting report "shoot it into the Harvard goalie's stick"?

Really hard to accept this when the fo advantage is so much in Brown's favor. Hopefully the possession advantage continues and the H defense wears down.

2 H goals at end of shotclock, 1 B penalty at end of shotclock leading to a man up goal, numerous shots into the Harvard goalie's stick (not meaning to take anything away; he played very well and was the difference.)
CAN NOT waste this kind of faceoff effort.
Brown must get more from second mids than just setting up the attack and not turning it over. That may have been enough in the past but with the IL so deep this year they need more if they want a shot at the Ivy tourney.
Credit to the Brown offense & coaching: when they come out of a TO they are very successful.
Bears won't, and shouldn't be, favored in any IL game again until Dartmouth.

That’s a tough L for the Bears to take. It’s very tiring watching Brown teams constantly with the unforced mistakes. Watching this one, still think Brown had more talent on the field they just brought their B- game, which won’t work in the Ivies this year. Would be extremely disappointing if the staff squanders this year away with more performances like this.

Harvard looks to me like a team 2 years away from being really dangerous nationally. Very young across the board. Arrow definitely up for the Crimson.

Frustrating climax with the Brown last second shot ending -up on the goal line…..expect League tourney entry to be attained by way of deep tie-breaker application …expect multiple teams with 2 League losses….didn’t expect a repeat of Goalie CT’s 18 save game….nor, however, less than half that number….loose play early played heavily…winnable game……there will be others ….would like to see the freshman goalie (Johns Hopkins admit) get a shot vs. Umass next Sat…kids are pretty much playing to their capabilities ……need to overachieve by way of greater focus ….

Seeing them three times this year, I made the same comment to someone earlier today not having seen the game today. Harvard is headed in the right direction with young talent.

One goal game, looking at stats, Crimson saves overcame Bear faceoffs. Everything else pretty equal. Close, but H got more GBs 3rd & 4th. 3 to's by Brown goalie. Gaydos good game with 4CTs, Gunty, with a leg sleeve, outstanding winning clamps, but Harvard did a good job harassing to prevent easy early offense off Brown's wins.

It was a pretty poor game for the keeper in and out of the cage—obviously not ideal timing for the worst showing of the year. The failed clearing pass to a Harvard player for the empty net goal in a 1 goal loss…..ouch. He’s been strong this season so far so he should get the mulligan. Looking for a big bounce back game against UMass. A change would be really surprising to me.

I agree this team needs greater focus, but don’t think they’re playing up to their capabilities (at all.) Most surprising to me is how flat they’ve come out on the road. Really thought with so many experienced seniors in starting rolls this would be a team playing with more composure.
