You really need a new script.

DocBarrister
just have to go undefeated the rest of the season to meet your "objective, empirical" prognostication or whatever pretentious phrase it was that you used. still possible!
Lately, you have done nothing but attack other forum members.

It’s worse than annoying … it’s boring.

i'm not attacking you i'm reminding you of a prediction you made less than 24 hours ago
This evening, I predicted two weekend wins in close games and a 3-2 B1G regular season.

They lost tonight by one … a close game.

You have a problem with my prediction?

I missed the end. Did Hopkins have chances to tie it?

They had the ball so technically they had a chance. Did they get anything that would resemble on challenge. No.

Well I kind of don't remember what exactly happened with the 40 seconds left but I am pretty sure Junior didn't tell DeSimone to take up 4 seconds running to GLE and throw it over Peshko's head
Scoring with 7.4 second left is highly improbable but all the flaws were in evidence tonight
- Lose 50/50 ground balls with infuriating regularity
- Struggle in clearing and too many turnovers
- Goalie play was less than 50%
But most of all - the smurfs can't consistently beat their man - the second mid-field - which once had two 6'4" players who could bring heat now has nobody over 5'10" - they have not scored since the Loyola game - Toomey must be wondering what meteor strike created 4 goals from that mid-field

In the last 6 games
8-11-10-8-10-10 goals scored - can't win in the shot clock era averaging 9/10 goals per game

Delaware should be easy - I don't think the first mid-field should be tired at all
That’s the thing … in a true motion offense you shouldn’t have to rely on beating your man with dodges.

A competent motion offense requires good spacing, constant off-ball movement, and crisp passing.

The Blue Jays’ offense occasionally shows that, but most of the time the offensive is players are poorly spaced often crowded together), stand around too much watching the ball handler (something Quint noted during the SU broadcast), and let the ball die in their sticks with prolonged dodging (too often leading to turnovers).

Whatever you want to call it, it’s not a true motion offense.

It’s more an endless series of draw-and-dumps, which can be successful (just take a look at old film of Pat Spencer and Loyola), but it’s not a motion offense.

So … what the heck is it?

I have never been embarrassed by a JHU lacrosse team.
This year and probably the next two will be rebuilding years.

The players are putting in effort. That is good. But the bottom line and the truth is that this is just a middling team and accurately ranked. We lack overall footspeed and athleticism. Some good athletes but not enough. It has taken some years to get here and will take some years to get back. I have the patience.

I have moved back to the East and am going to the Delaware game. I look forward to it. But I will not provide a post-game analysis.

There are no "bad" JHU lacrosse teams, only some less successful teams.

I don’t know about that but I did almost choke when Carc was talking about the high character senior class and grad group. There have been a few off field problems with some in this group not mentioned here before but certainly doesn’t scream character.

I think they do. I think last year’s team had a shot at the Final Four had they made the tournament. They beat a quarterfinals Rutgers team and played Maryland (an NCAA finalist) close in the B1G final.

Cut down on turnovers and failed clears and this team, even when stumbling on offense, can win some games.

That’s talent.

Had the Blue Jays turned the ball over 12 or 13 times instead of 17, I think they win this game.

This team has talent, but I see little chemistry and their fundamentals have been horrible. They are their own worst enemy.

Last year’s team ended up being pretty good. The all-B1G schedule (four games with MD and Rutgers) was just brutal.

The defense looks more athletic this season than we have seen in recent years. Certainly more aggressive (10 caused turnovers tonight). But yeah … we’re not winning in the middle of the field, and the Blue Jays used to own that real estate.

And you have really said nothing in your post-game posts.

By my count, you have posted 7 post-game posts:

One post insulting the 2020 team.

Six posts about me.

Zero posts about the game.

Weird.

Hope the bench gets plenty of minutes against DE. Might as well start seeing what we have for next year.

Come on … as chitown noted, the effort is there.

Not giving up on this team.

Play Delaware. Beat Delaware. Keep getting better. One game at a time.

Joe Wooten used to tell his players at Bishop O’Connell to ‘find the shooter.’ Meaning guard the player or players who can hurt you. The poor defense against Skalniak and Hewitt cost the Jays the game in the second half.

Effort by itself doesn't win ball games; our effort was great, but today Navy equalled that effort and they had at least one player much better than our best guy. Keep getting better, absolutely. Consistently leading the NCAA in TO's.....perhaps it's time to give some PT to others.
