CM is at Prepbound. Only MIAA school there! Almost advertising recruiting.

Medfield v St. Johns Prep v Canandaigua (NY) in a series of scrimmages this Saturday at Medfield. That should be some great pre-season action.

Re: MASS HS Lax
Is Medfield D3 this year? Lots of new alignments. I don't know where to begin. Up to D1: CC, Winch, SJS, Gonk, Bev and more. Dux down to D2? DS and Coh to D4? So many questions. MIAA site also says these alignments are for 2022 and 2023?
Re: MASS HS Lax
Looks Medfield might be D4 this year! Statewide tourney this year with no more regional sectionals. CC up to D1 and Dux in D2.
SJP opens up against LS today. Looks like it is on livestream:

Re: MASS HS Lax
Not surprised. SJP is an absolute wagon this year.
Re: MASS HS Lax
BC High 13 - LS 8. While a five-goal loss isn't really a blow out in lacrosse, it's definitely a margin. LS now has two of them against the top Catholics. If they are their usual cut above the rest of the publics, and SJP and BCH roll through scorched earth through the MIAA, the drumbeat to get rid of the Catholics could get pretty loud by June.

Re: MASS HS Lax
LS will always be LS but they are definitely down this year vs other years.
Re: MASS HS Lax
SJP vs BC High tomorrow. Prob the top 2 teams in the state in the MIAA.
Re: MASS HS Lax
SJP 11-8 over BC High.
BC up 7-4 in the 3rd. SJP 7-1 run to close it out.

2. Concord Carlisle
3. Acton Boxborough
4. BC High
5. Hingham
6. Norwell

Re: MASS HS Lax
It looks like there was some crazy scores yesterday according to Inside Lacrosse. I don’t do Twitter so I can’t confirm they are correct.
AB over the Prep
Dux over Med
Longmeadow blows out Pinkerton
Sebs drops to 2-4 after losing to Nobels
LaSalle smokes Franklin

Re: MASS HS Lax
They are correct. The AB score surprised me the most. SJP offense just isn’t clicking yet like last year. Losing two D1 fogo’s didn’t help, but with the talent they have should score more than 4 goals against anybody. ISL is a lot more balanced this year than ever before. Lasalle is very good too. Don’t think Pinkerton is what they used to be. Looks like it is getting harder for them to keep kids away from BG and the preps.
SJP plays a loaded Staples team this week who have a great fogo, so that won’t be easy either.

Re: MASS HS Lax
Looks like Longmeadow is really good this year. Just curious, do they get pillaged by private schools to the same degree the metro Boston schools do?
Re: MASS HS Lax
Don’t think so. Catholics and ISL are not near them. They have been dominant since the 70’s, so think kids look forward to trying to win state championships each year in their home town.
Re: MASS HS Lax
It's too preppy of a place for me to imagine that they don't lose their fair share. It's just probably more West 1 & West 2 schools that draw more from CT (which Longmeadow borders) than ISL. A lot of those schools are fairly close compared to the Emass privates.

Nice change up to get a public school coach after they've talked with so many prep/ISL coaches this spring. He's a big personality, but has some takes that had me nodding my head and has done some great stuff to build on the tremendous legacy of LS lacrosse. He seems a little prone to embellishment, as every anecdote he shared was pretty much on the nose, but I'm sure the root of everything he shared was true.

Re: MASS HS Lax
The new non-regional format for the playoffs produced this doozy of a match-up in Divsion 4 - McCann Tech (North Adams) has to make a trip from extreme NW corner of the state to Falmouth Academy on the Cape (extreme SE) - that's a 4.5 hour trip without traffic on a school bus.
For some relief, they are playing at 2:30PM - what's the over/ under on when they get home...before midnight?

Re: MASS HS Lax
The state championship game is at 5 pm on a Tuesday in Worcester... MIAA really went above and beyond this year.

The MIAA is a complete joke. Run by a bunch of retired AD’s who are padding their pensions.
Even their website looks like it was built on an Atari.
