Ivy League 2022
Re: Ivy League 2022
rankings don't matter. if this continues, ivy going into the conference season as the #1. and 3 at larges is in play.
Re: Ivy League 2022
Next weekend will go a long way towards sorting out who's who in the Ivies: Cornell-Yale, Princeton-Penn, Brown Harvard. Let the games begin.RopeUnit wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 3:22 pm Nice weekend all around! Not one gimme on the slate either. I have no idea how to handicap the league right now, but would probably group Cornell/Princeton @ the top, with Penn/Yale/Brown/Harvard behind. We could easily see 6 teams ranked top 20 tomorrow, which I don’t think has happened before.
Re: Ivy League 2022
Ivies complete this week's sweep of OOC opponents with Yale over Denver and Penn over Nova.

Mine will have 5 in the TOP 10, and 6 in the TOP 15.calourie wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 3:19 pmMy FanLax poll will have 5 Ivies in the top 15, 6 in the top twenty. Just need Dartmouth to win their next two to complete the septfecta.joewillie78 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 3:11 pm Holy Crap. 14-0 in OOC games the past 2 weeks. I have never seen an ENTIRE league go a full 2 weeks and not lose a single game. I don't know if those records exist but I can't imagine this has ever happened before. The streak will now move along slowly as they do have some OOC games during the league season, but what an accomplishment going into League play. 27-6 overall. SCARY!!!!

Good win by the Bulldogs versus Denver, in Denver. Looks like Yale is shaking off it's slow start. This might make Saturday's upcoming game more challenging.

This game was likely going to be a dogfight regardless.faircornell wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 5:56 pm Good win by the Bulldogs versus Denver, in Denver. Looks like Yale is shaking off it's slow start. This might make Saturday's upcoming game more challenging.

Re: Ivy League 2022
Ivies prove their self imposed hiatus means nothing negative and they keep on winning….So does Maryland and UVA.

Tough to separate the save percentage from the defensive play. In general the obsession over a panoply of stats that seek to isolate the inextricable is misleading. Sort of like the meaningless business babble about “silos” in business and IT.

Only one stat matters: win or lose.
So, about Penn’s performance so far. Not dominant, but sufficient unto the day thus far.
Or, as a co-worker of mine from SE DC, Shorty, used to say, “let’s not not start sncking each other’s “tool” just yet.”
One leg at at time, one game at a time.

I agree regarding save percentages. But, it looks like the Ivy League is looking at them. Brutal Ivy week ahead:PizzaSnake wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 10:20 pm Tough to separate the save percentage from the defensive play. Yale at Cornell
Brown at Harvard
Penn at Princeton
St John's at Dartmouth

Re: Ivy League 2022
To pick a nit, it's Penn at Princeton. Teams definitely want to win their home games, and pick up at least one road conference win. Six Ivy teams play Saturday, and at least two of them won't make the ILT. But Dartmouth doesn't have a brutal week ahead: should take care of business against St. John's.faircornell wrote: ↑Sun Mar 13, 2022 11:19 pm Brutal Ivy week ahead:

Important nit to pick. Home field advantage will be important in these close match-ups.FannOLax wrote: ↑Mon Mar 14, 2022 12:00 amTo pick a nit, it's Penn at Princeton.
