Thus far this year, even strength Bruno has 36 goals from attack, 27 or 28 from mids (TY-K is listed twice in the stats). Nice balance! 8 mids have 2 or more goals, speaking to depth. Only A point not from the top 3 is a single assist.

Great news that the Bears have once again cracked the top 20. Well deserved and I would argue they should be ranked above Cuse and Syracuse who have only one combined win against a team with a winning record. Those are classic laundry rankings at this point. If the names on the front of those jerseys were different, they would not be in the top 20. Stout test against Stony Brook this weekend.

Hope that Brown's lead FO specialist will be back at full strength by Saturday. After scoring a sweet goal in the third quarter, he absorbed a cheap shot cross check to the back from PC's #48. That LSM/SSDM has more penalties than GBs this season, and should have one more penalty to his name as the refs failed to call a foul against him on the play Saturday. PC fans will argue it was a push w/o possession, but he leveled a blind side cross check squarely across the back that snapped the Brown FO guy's head back and sent him tumbling awkwardly forward. That's a classic illegal body check or unnecessary roughness. Homer rant over.

That would be a big injury for Brown--Stony Brook is facing off around 60%, hope Gunty is alright. Stony Brook has had Brown's number for the past 6 years--would be wise to remember 2017 when Brown put up 27 on Quinnipiac only to be dismantled by Stony Brook 25-17 the following week. Hope Brown is locked in all week.

Nice that Brown is ranked in the IL and Coaches poll. Play clean and hard and they should remain.

No one has been more Bullish on Brown than myself. I have them 10th this week in my poll and have had them in my top 20 virtually all year. I love your team (except of course when they face the Big Red), and I called them a sneaky sleeper earlier, but now they are a known quantity and will sneak up on no one. Good luck against Stony Brook as that team is very good and can score with anyone.

Ugh. When I saw the boxscore with the other fo getting work I thought it was about time Gunty got some rest, didn't know it was because of injury. Fingers crossed...

Hoping Bears are back at full strength this week. Good to see Taylor on the field last week. Hoping to see Witt & Hertz suited up. Injuries have resulted in a lot of different poles rotating in and out.

Gunty left the field hopping on one leg. I hope that resting him for the remainder of the game was just precautionary. It was a good opportunity for Dash Sachs to get some reps. He comes highly touted and should be a very good FO specialist given time and experience.

Stony Brook/Rutgers game available on espn+ if you want to do some scouting.
This game will be a good test.

Bruno best not be heading into this Stony Brook game overconfident. Stony Brook has beaten Brown 3 of the last 4 meetings, and they are 4-1 and just took the #3 team in the country to the wire with a 1-goal loss. This is a damn good Stony Brook team.

Here are three potential keys to keep your eye on: (1) Faceoffs: Brown's top FOGO (who has faced some GREAT FOGOs) is sitting at 48%, but the SB FOGO is at 65%--that could be a match-up to watch; (2) Man-up: Brown's man-up team is converting at 56%, while its man-down D has limited opponents to just 25%--that could be an advantage for Bruno; and (3) Groundballs: SB has 191 in 5 contests (38/game) compared to 142 (28/game) for Brown. Otherwise, the teams are statistically similar. The goalies are both saving at just above 50%. Both teams are clearing at just above 85%. Both teams are shooting about the same -- 32%-35%. Both teams have taken between 225-230 shots. Both teams have given up around 60 goals, or ~12/game. And, both teams have had 81 turnovers in 5 games. I would give Brown's Ws a slight edge (Q-pac, UVM, Nova, and PC Friars) over SB's wins (Fairfield, Rober Morris, St. Jon's, and Long Island U). Both had close losses to Top 10 teams. Should be a great game and test for both teams.

Let's hope Brown comes out hot, and finishes strong, as it did last week. Go Bruno!

Thanks bearlaxfan for the vibes and your devotion to Brown lax since your playing days …..SB, headed to the CAA and thus no AE tourney, is desperate to run the table starting Saturday ….tough and solid outfit with talent……have yet to observe a bad size XXXL goalie and Brown’s fits the mold……good coordination….need 14/15 stops from him not the 12 heretofore ….the offense can play with anyone ….back/up FO was solid vs. PC after Gunty retired late……Aughavin heating up…..SB will be tougher than NC over-all….Ivy championship team contenders or pretenders test Sat. …….

Heavy rain and wind gusts to 33 MPH at game time on Saturday. I suppose that favors the home team. It's always more miserable playing on the road in those conditions.

I remember the joking in the stands with freshmen parents: they didn't mention the weather in recruiting, did they?

Interesting aside on the Crosse Commission podcast: Stony Brook's 2 Super Bowls were last Saturday: Rutgers and next Sat: 'Cuse. Could be a trap game for them vs Bruno (they also have UMLowell Wed.). Hope not; want a 100% invested opponent so we can get a better read on Brown: IL looks crazy tough coming out of their shutdown.

I'm too old to know how to link to Stony Brook's social media, but if you can find it, Coach Gilardi states the Sea Wolves are preparing for the Brown team to be similar to Rutgers in strengths. He's a solid coach, doubt they're looking forward to next week against Syracuse especially after a close loss to Rutgers. And, it's not a foregone conclusion that a win over Syracuse will be more valuable than a win over Brown come May....

No Gunty today and it looks really tough @ FO. Bears going to need an amazing effort today.
I’ve never seen the ball slip out the stick without any pressure like it is today for both teams—this weather having a huge impact on this game.
