I guess that the Ivy League decided to share the love for Rookie of the Week. Leo Johnson from Yale was named ROW. Johnson was 2,1 against U Mass.
CJ Kirst was 3,2 against "receiving votes" Hobart and 4,1 against #5 OSU. I'd not be surprised if Kirtst makes a mid season Tewaaraton watch list.

Indeed, this Yale fan was surprised that Leo was named.

Re: Cornell 2022
Look, Kirst is clearly one of the BEST players in the Ivy league, forget being a "rookie", and probably, given his performance in the 1st 4 games, you could pencil him in for this award every week. I don't blame the Ivy League at all for wanting to show some love elsewhere.
The Kirst bloodlines produce superstars and CJ may be the best of all the great players named Kirst.
If he keeps up the amazing play he has had in just his first 4 games as a collegian, ROW in the Ivy League will just be a mere footnote to all the other awards he will win in his career.
Cornell is so lucky to have such a great young player.

I love the enthusiasm joewillie, and I also love Kirst's game, and obviously he should have the award this week. But we're four games into his first year--from what I've seen, there are some incredibly strong rookies in the IL this year. Kirst, Miles Botkiss and Leo Johnson are 5th/7th/8th in Ivy League Goals per game (and Botkiss as a freshman from the midfield is even more impressive IMO!) I don't see him as the run away ROY yet, though I could definitely change my tune by the end of the month.

RU, completely agree with everything you posted. Kirst is just one of many great newcomers to the league and am so glad we will watch CJ for the next 4 years.RopeUnit wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 9:18 am I love the enthusiasm joewillie, and I also love Kirst's game, and obviously he should have the award this week. Thinking ahead, has anybody taken a good look at the viewing options for the Penn State game, which appears to only be available on the BTN?
I took a quick look, and a one month PSU pass for $9.95 looked like the best option to me.

I bought the all Big10 1 year lacrosse subscription for $30 something to watch other games in the league. Need to do my scouting….another fan wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 2:42 pm Thinking ahead, has anybody taken a good look at the viewing options for the Penn State game, which appears to only be available on the BTN?

Good deal! I've seen OSU, Hopkins, MD and PSU without the package-- hoping to get a look at Rutgers and Michigan through other channels for my own scouting.

To anyone who attended the Ohio State game - can we buy tickets at Schoellkopf yet? Or do we still need to order ahead of time online?

It will be Ithaca weather in State College on Saturday. Low 20, high 39 90% chance of snow. Brutal!

Just wrote about this in game of the week thread. Might it be canceled and if so, would it be rescheduled. This storm coming is supposed to be bad.laxfan1313 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 2:49 pm It will be Ithaca weather in State College on Saturday. Low 20, high 39 90% chance of snow. Brutal!

Penn State does have an indoor lax facility that they used for their first game this year. Only way I can imagine the game being cancelled is if the Cornell team is unable to get to State College PA.joewillie78 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 2:51 pmJust wrote about this in game of the week thread. Nice facility. My son had some regional soccer practices in that space. I hadn’t thought about it.FannOLax wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 3:32 pmPenn State does have an indoor lax facility that they used for their first game this year. My recollection was that the PSU indoor facility of several years ago had some issues with windows, sunlight, space, etc. This was in regard to a game that PSU won where the opposing team was dissatisfied with the set up, including seating. This may be a facility that has since been replaced or expanded. Or, it could have been that the opposition was simply hard to please.

Yes. I recall that this was an issue. I guess that if it's a choice between playing indoors and either not playing or getting an unexpected Tuesday game in the middle of the Ivy season, it's better for Cornell to play.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:06 pmNot sure there is much room for spectators.faircornell wrote: ↑Wed Mar 09, 2022 7:45 pm My recollection was that the PSU indoor facility of several years ago had some issues with windows, sunlight, space, etc. This was in regard to a game that PSU won where the opposing team was dissatisfied with the set up, including seating.
