I was ridiculed by predicting the IVY LEAGUE is a FOUR team NCAA tournament league this year, but counting Dartmouth's win against a very good Vermont squad, the Ivies are 8-0 this past week with wins over juggernauts like Georgetown, Ohio State etc.
I am locked in now to the Ivies getting 4 teams into the dance this year.

Off to a great start. Vermont and Bryant are solid programs.check sticks wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 5:37 pmTLD.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 5:05 pm Big win for Dartmouth. I said it a few years ago, program turned the corner. Sometimes it takes a while before the improvement is reflected in wins.
So many doubters, haters, naysayers, pessimists, and all around jamokes casting their negative views towards Coach Callahan and his efforts to turn the D program around since his arrival.
Even Andy Shay had a very tenuous 6-7 year run before Yale found its footing and pivoted towards the current road of success.
Let's see an Ivy win come out of this Dartmouth season as the REAL tell the "corner has turned". But it sure feels like this team chemistry has the potential.

UVM has solid wins against Penn State and Bryant, and one goal losses to Brown and Utah.
Dartmouth has home field advantage, and Massey favors the Big Green by one. Game time wind chill is projected as a balmy 28 degrees.
Hope it goes the other way!
Hincks is definitely AA quality, hope he gets that level of recognition.

I got to see Hincks play as a high schooler, and remember that with a dad who played Yale MLAX I was hoping we might see him in New Haven suiting up for the Elis. Although that didn't come to pass, I've always cheered for him and I'm glad to see him getting such good recognition and experiencing success this year (and in the short 2020 season) for the Big Green. Great win, Dartmouth!MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 8:49 pmLove being wrong!MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 07, 2022 8:34 amhmmm, much as I'd like to think otherwise, I think this is a big stretch for Dartmouth at this point. Big win for Princeton over Rutgers. Congratulations to the Tigers.

The narrative that the IVY might have a down year is officially dead.

I repeat. 4 TEAM NCAA league this year. Now 9-0 in their last 9 games and they have taken down the #2,#3 and #5 teams in the country.
Incredible after 2 years of Covid and losing generational talents like Teat, Sowers and TD.

Right now, Princeton, Penn and Cornell would be absolute LOCKS, and Brown and Yale are not far behind, Harvard is top 20 material and Dartmouth is much improved with arguably the best goalie in the country. This league is SCARY. League play will be incredible.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 8:32 pmJoe!! Keep knocking ‘em back!! With all due respect to the excellent Dartmouth goalie I don’t think he will be 1st or 2nd team all IVY this year in front of either Ierlan or Peters, but maybe.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Couldn’t be more impressed with the Tigers this year. To me the clear #3 in the county, with Cornell breathing down their necks
Re: Ivy League 2022
I am not suggesting you're wrong, just asking an honest question: has the Ivy ever got four teams into the dance in a single year? It was a one-bid league in 2017, two teams in 2018 and 2019 (although I thought Cornell was good enough in 2019, especially with the road win over Notre Dame).joewillie78 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 08, 2022 5:43 pm I was ridiculed by predicting the IVY LEAGUE is a FOUR team NCAA tournament league this year, but counting Dartmouth's win against a very good Vermont squad, the Ivies are 8-0 this past week with wins over juggernauts like Georgetown, Ohio State etc.

Conference play is gonna be intense, a gauntlet of so many good teams. It's only a week or so away... and the conference still hasn't announced anything about where the ILT might be played.

Ivies got 4 teams into the NCAAs in both 1988 and 1990 when only 12 teams got into the dance.FannOLax wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 9:49 pmI am not suggesting you're wrong, just asking an honest question: has the Ivy ever got four teams into the dance in a single year? Re: Ivy League 2022
4 Ivies in 2006, with 3 losses in the first round.
2020 would’ve been 4. Fighting chance for it this year.

I don’t know about 4 in 2020,
Handley was hurt,
but I was definitely betting 2 Final Four teams.

The challenge is that once the Ivies start playing each other, good teams get losses. Princeton, Penn and Cornell have high quality wins that willl help them weather the storm. Yale would help themselves by beating Denver this weekend. Cornell would be helped by a win against Penn State.

Re: Ivy League 2022
Agree with everything here! Princeton looks to be back at its best since the Tierney days, all around great team. Hard to think Yale won't be a team to beat come the end of the season given all of the success they have had in recent years and Shea's post-season success. Very exciting to have the Ivies back in action and at a high level!joewillie78 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 8:35 pmRight now, Princeton, Penn and Cornell would be absolute LOCKS, and Brown and Yale are not far behind, Harvard is top 20 material and Dartmouth is much improved with arguably the best goalie in the country. I think Peters vs. Hincks is the real race here. Ierlan is certainly a great goalie, but both the stats (thus far, still early) and the eye test from what i have seen point to those two.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Fri Mar 11, 2022 8:57 pm With all due respect to the excellent Dartmouth goalie I don’t think he will be 1st or 2nd team all IVY this year in front of either Ierlan or Peters, but maybe.

Re: Ivy League 2022
A lot of season left to play. Respectfully, Ierland has faced more difficult opponents than Hinks thus far. While not trying to take anything away from Hinks, he and the Big Green should, rationally, need a few Ivy wins for All Ivy honors.LaxTime2020 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 12, 2022 1:14 amI think Peters vs. Hincks is the real race here.
