While I like what the shot clock has done to make the game be more exciting, it also makes talent more important than ever.

Looks like Grimes is out. Not listed as a starter.

Early, but turnovers again killing the Jays.

First quarter is not yet over and already five turnovers.

Defense is playing well, but UVa's is even better. Two offensive possessions ending in shot-clock violations. 1 SOG vs 6. Speed and athleticism differential is noticeable on the ground balls and the clears.

Also out-the hopkins offense, the hopkins ability to pickup groundballs, the hopkins ability to clear, the mental well being of Hopkins fans.

Ball is dying in the sticks of Hopkins offensive players.

Why are they constantly trying to dodge against this Virginia defense? Move the ball. Move off-ball. Work to get the high percentage shot.

Instead, we are seeing players trying to dodge against one of the biggest, most athletic defenses in college lacrosse.

For the longest time all I’ve heard is about his work ethic and yet all I’m stuck with lately from his game is poor body language. He’s a 3x captain and it sure doesn’t show when things aren’t going his way.

best part of the last possession I guess is that we didn’t turn it over?

ONE shot on goal in the quarter is in the butt-ugly category.

On pace for 24 turnovers. Zero face off wins.

Blue Jays are actually playing this close considering those two stats. Kirson doing a good job in goal.

Yet another Virginia goal off a Hopkins offensive turnover.
