any games I missed or other insights? I'm excited for this weekend.
Can Virginia Wesleyan uphold the ODAC in an out of conference matchup with Birmingham Southern though? :D

CNU was fire, strong team across the board. HSC was fortunate on man up scoring almost half their teams goals. They got doubled up on shots by CNU it was never in doubt from the first whistle.. HSC might be a good team but CNU looks special.

W&L put in a solid performance the D did a nice job as did the goalie. WAC is not that strong but looked like a nice game from the Gennies. Opened up the bench in the 4th and it showed. Very curious to see how they will match up w Denison, Koch knows this team pretty well

Two takeaways.

CNU is very good, but hasn’t faced another legit top 20 team yet and won’t until mid March.

Hamden-Sydney is extremely overrated.

LYN 15 - Cabrini 9
Cabrini canned one 6 seconds in off the FO and has a good 1st . Especially goalie.
A real Physical game. Chippy and mouthy with some great GB battles and hits.
LYN FO Kraus was 16-28 against very good Captains FO guys.
LYN LSM Darminio best player on Field defensively. LYN #2 Marindin had great game with 2 assists. They are very athletic and fast as a group.
Offense showed they can all score. Very slick, fast and generate lot of shots and wore down Cabrini.
At 15-7 they played the clock game. Let a man-up expire and let in a late 2 men down goal.

CNU as advertised it seems. Did HSC have an off day or were they overwhelmed? At home, only 13 GBs and 28 shots (12 SOG..)..

Good to see W&L didn’t repeat Catholic style.. Denison will be good game I suspect they win!

If NOKE plays like they did 2nd half last week they can come away with the win but suspect they need a very clean game and some breaks.

CNU is for real and I think Lynchburg might be just a notch below them at the moment. Throw a hat around HSC and W&L with Noke a notch or 2 lower. Not sure if any ODAC team other than Lynchburg will be top 20 by year end. Still early lots can change. Roanoke / Dickinson looks to be a good one , goal play could be the difference maker

CNU schedule Grove City, Catholic, Ursinus, Illinois Wesleyan, Gettysburg, Lynchburg, Washington and Lee, Whittier and Williams all in March. Looks pretty solid to me.

Yes they play Gettysburg and Lynchburg mid March. That’s what I said. The rest of the teams will be in and out of the top 20 all year. Not a bad schedule but as I said, they’re just playing solid teams until mid March, then they start to play good teams. - But I agree they are to be considered top tier this year until they prove themselves not to be.

19-7 Yikes…HSC gave a terrible performance against a very talented CNU team. They spent the majority of the game in the penalty box or walking back to the face off X where they
Only won 2-3 face offs clean. (Their other possessions were awarded on CNU violations) 19 Turnovers, 12 shots on goal and 13 ground balls.. I’m not sure which stat is worse.

CNUs speed crushed HSC, scoring the vast majority of their goals in transition. Their only weakens appears to be going 0-7 on man-up opportunities. Lots of experience and playing with confidence. They will be tough to beat this year.

HSC has a big test on Tuesday. The sign of a good program is how they bounce back from a poor performance. We’ve seen that already with Noke and W&L this year. The ODAC will be watching closely.

Hampden-Sydney vs Cabrini today at 3:30. Going to be an interesting game to watch. Both teams coming off a loss. I expect this game to be close and physical. Both teams desperately need this win. Any thoughts?

Laxfan69 wrote: Tue Mar 01, 2022 11:02 am Both teams are in pretty comparable position. Cabrini may have had the "better" loss since one bad span of plays seemingly cost them the game while HSC got bodied bell-to-bell. I think both teams struggle in the same areas: shots-on-goal and turnovers. Both teams had more turnovers than shots-on-goal in there losses which is rarely a formula for victory. Cabrini at least didnt get demolished on groundballs though. I predict whichever team gets more shots-on-goal than they do turnovers will win the game. I hope for the fans sake one team can pull of this monumental feat because a defensive slugfest between these two notoriously disciplined teams will probably result in 10000 penalty minutes with these odac refs.

I am curious how HSC can bounce back after looking so unenthusiastic at home against a budding rival in CNU. If they cant look excited for CNU than i would guess they wont look excited right after getting there block knocked off by CNU either.

IF HSC isnt super predictable (individually and as a team) they should do well.

IF Cabrini follows their coach's game plan they should do well.
Hopefully HSC has a good zone offense or they will struggle to score. They never came out of the zone against LYN even after giving up 8 straight goals during their one bad span of plays.

Cabrini stayed in game on unforced LYN TO’s and goalie play in the 1st to end Q up 3-1 then got owned as LYN scores 8 unanswered to take 14-6 lead with 10 minutes left in game.. LYN is very fast, physical and as advertised!
Cabrini is good but we’re overwhelmed. I’m rooting for HSC but see Cabrini heading home with a 14-8 win

Looks like almost everyone on Inside Lacrosse is counting out HSC. I honestly think they have it in them to win and I'm rooting for it to happen. But I am a realist, I think Cabrini will come home with the win 14-12

Cabrini with the 8-6 win to end a long road trip.
HSC made a run in the 2nd half but only 3 guys scoring does not bode well. They can tune their game up against Greensboro and Berry before going to W&L.

So is Cabrini over ranked or is HSC not getting enough love? I guess this also depending on what poll you are looking at. Was only able to watch a little bit of the game.

Cabrini is over ranked. They look more like and 18-20 team on the field.

The gap is narrowing with some of the better teams in non-traditional conferences in the South like the SAA. Teams like Centre, Transylvania, Southwestern (TX), Berry, Rhodes, Southern Virginia, and Birmingham Southern often now have better talent now then the bottom 2/3 of the ODAC. There's a lot of good lacrosse athletes now coming out of metro Atlanta, Memphis, Louisville and Birmingham that have to play somewhere

Lynchburg vs. Salisbury this week. Any thoughts or predictions?

Salisbury coming off a 11-6 win against Gettysburg. Lynchburg coming off a 15-9 win against Cabrini.

Can we get a real picture of Lynchburg and Salisbury based off of the last weeks results? Is Cabrini as good as past years? Is Salisbury down this year?

Salisbury has got to be gunning for Lynchburg after dropping a game to them last year. Can the hornets take wins two years in a row?

Still a lot of questions from this past weekend for both teams. Would love to hear some thoughts.
