RT: Go Fork Yourself
Now, I don’t want to get off on a rant here, but the events of the past week should make plain to the American corporations and useful idiot chuckleheads who have been propping up RT America and other Russian state television that it’s time to cut the cord once and for all.

This has been obvious to anyone with a modicum of situational awareness for a long while now, of course, though too many Americans seem to have not gotten the memo.

One might have expected that a failed NFL color commentator who fancies himself an “intelligent” comedian would be high-IQ enough to have recognized the pitfalls associated with hosting bimbomercials on a cable network that is a state-run mouthpiece for a vicious tyrant. And yet for Dennis “Mensa” Miller, staring back at his own visage on the small screen proved too alluring. While Miller proved to be a disappointment, pre-Ukraine invasion we shoudn’t have been surprised that a boozy actor in twilight or a roided-out sidekick to Gorilla Monsoon would take work as Putin’s court jester, given their limitations. Work is work.

But the problem with having official Russian agitprop on the air in America isn’t simply the personalities who are whoring themselves out. It’s the corporations who give the network space in our living rooms.

Man, liberals really hate free speech.

I can’t imagine my first thought about any broadcaster, state or otherwise, is ‘silence!!!’

The best disinfectant for anything is sunlight. Americans, and I’m one, have been living with state television since the first broadcasting day. All mainstream media is co-opted by the state excepting Fox; look at every DNC approved network channel, and see the dozens of former spooks and State employees who have lofty roles at these stations.

I myself choose to watch MSNBC not because I believe them (I laugh at them), but because I want to know what total sleazeballs like Brennan, Clapper, and the entire lineup of professional liars are lying about that day.

If you dont like RT, I realize this could be complicated for some, guess what: turn the channel. Otherwise, watch them and learn about their bias just as I learn about America liberal bias on MSNBC. I’ve never thought once to demand that MSNBC be silenced.

Why do liberals always go for speech suppression?!? Hmmmmmm….

We had a working theory a while back that we had Russian trolls on here.

If not actually Russian, on the payroll?

Working overtime since the SWIFT sanctions hit. Gotta be hoping to get that spigot turned back on if you're supporting Russian state media and propaganda.

Supporting free speech = ‘supporting Russia’?

You really want to go with that one?

RT News is literally Russian state media and propaganda.

So supporting and spreading RT News = supporting Russia.

Simple stuff here, keep up.

Oh I’m keeping up.

Guess who just shut down today the only independent television station in Russia? He couldn’t take their ‘dangerous’ thoughts any longer. Wanted the people to only hear one viewpoint.

Reminds me of some folks in America.

So you want to spread Russian state media and propaganda in the United States... State media and propaganda controlled by the same guy who shut down the last independent TV station in Russia?

You realize how absolutely moronic that sounds, right?

What do you think you’re getting every time you tune into ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, PBS? You think that’s independent journalism!!?

Below, media corporations meeting in secret with WH officials to discuss how to present a more optimistic view of Biden's economic policies seems to me to be a bit like . . . . . . state TV.

But I'm glad (and unsurprised) to hear from CNN that the "conversations have been productive."

I think we have two, perhaps aliases and just one, but both are nakedly supporting Putin at this point.

Trying to pretend otherwise, but it's coming out into the open.

And they keep doubling down.

I definitely was an advocate for that theory. If not that like the guy who worked for Tucker Carlson on chat boards talking like Hitler crossed with King Joffrey.

Not Russian, just conduits for it. A lot of people, idiots and smart people alike, eat up the divisive social media propaganda and parrot it out everywhere else they go. It gives them a group to hate, removes any personal responsibility for their own problems, regional or national problems, and makes them feel superior. Nice big hit of serotonin to go with it.

I feel like you fellers should be staring at the SOTU speech tonight. No masks of course…

Hard for sleepy Joe to avoid the sordid state of affairs in the world today.

I’ll be posting my review in the morning on the ‘Biden Harris’ thread. Don’t expect anything too upbeat.
