Matt...when I submitted mine, I didn't get a "ranking submitted." Instead, the screen reset to all of the empty ranking fields. So I don't know if my rankings got in yesterday when I submitted.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 8:39 amPolls are due today at noon EST.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 10:30 am Forum Polls due on Monday at noon EST. The disparity of opinion with Cornell is amazing.

I noticed the same thing…..maybe too optimistic and too pessimistic. Will sort itself out in the next week.
“I wish you would!”
Re: FanLax Forum Poll
My guess is ultimately they are closer to 6 than 20.

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
lax reference makes no mention of Hopkins, at all.
Yet, care to explain why you have them in the top 10 ?
Can it be right about Cornell, wrong about.....

I used a different set of criteria to create my poll. I had Cornell at 12. My poll did not include data that would project future performance. Hopkins is in my top 10 on the strength of a top 10 win over Jacksonville.runrussellrun wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 2:51 pmlax reference makes no mention of Hopkins, at all.

If I were to project into the future, I wouldn't bet on them staying there long.runrussellrun wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 2:55 pmCriteria for Hopkins at # 8 ?rolldodge wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 2:53 pmI used a different set of criteria to create my poll. Re: FanLax Forum Poll
The FanLax Computer Rankings are based on each team's Three Best Wins and Three Worst Losses. Some teams (like the Ivies) haven't played enough games to have their Three Wins and other teams just have rough schedules so they don't have three wins yet. For these teams that are at a distinct disadvantage within this ranking, they are marked with an asterisks to show that they're currently being weighed down by their lack of Three Wins. None the less, Team Rankings based on each teams Best Wins and Worst Losses...

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
I like your ranking methodology and it inspired my own ... but I'm struggling to understand how you applied it. For example, why is High Point so high at 14? Are you valuing losing to highly ranked teams?Matnum PI wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 3:44 pm The FanLax Computer Rankings are based on each team's Three Best Wins and Three Worst Losses. Re: FanLax Forum Poll
Depending on outcomes of a few games tomorrow, it could get even more muddled in that 10-20 bucket.

Re: FanLax Forum Poll
There's nothing positive about a loss. Even to a highly ranked team. Only that losing to a highly ranked is less negative than losing to a lower-ranked team. As for High Point, they're ranked well because they beat Navy and Colgate. Two teams that aren't great but better than many other teams' wins.
