Interesting battle at the X today. Our guy is super tough as he proved last week but Colgate's FO man is going at a 62% clip against solid competition. And both teams also have good goaltending so this is a toss up particularly being a home game for them. Coach Raymond says they have been getting out of doors on the Boz but I would give the Raiders on edge on their home field in this weather. Visibility will be very strange in that late day flat light.

It is snowing lightly right now in Clinton, and we didn't get quite as much snow as predicted, but 20 miles away not snowing at all in Hamilton. Supposed to start snowing there at around noon and finish around 2. I suspect they will have the field ready given these difficult, but not crazy, conditions. It will be windy too until sun goes down at 5:45. Better strap those helmets on tight.

We do play a lot of people so that may end up being a factor as I think it was against Lehigh.

Anyone know if Madonna is back?

Heard it is going to be cancelled today, Don't think NCAA temp cutoffs allow for 19 degrees when it feels like 10 anymore

Yeah, it shows as being "postponed" on the HWSAthletics.com site as well:

Postponed is of course different than canceled. They should have agreed to play in the bubble and then we could have gone over to Hamilton two years in a row.

That was totally predictable. And a good decision to avoid injuries. They should have played in the Bubble. Or at Hamilton yesterday.

I don't see a clear spot for the Colgate game to be played. We have a gap between the Syracuse game and the start of league play v SHU. Gate's schedule looks pretty full as well. Doubt either team want a weekday game one respective league play starts.

A few extra days to heal after Lehigh is probably a good thing. Cornell will be playing us on short rest and I expect them to let us know before, during and after the game, no matter the results. So our next 2 games are against our longest running rivalries. Neither will be anything but a tough battle.

Sitting by the window here listening to the wind howl. Definitely not a day for lacrosse, especially for our brand which is run and gun. I wouldn’t be surprised if the game is eventually canceled outright like it was a few years ago.

Anyone know whether Madonna will be back for Cornell? I have my doubts about our defense matching up with their fantastic attack, but my officiating friend says that we can take them and he’s seen both Cornell and ‘Bart play.

Looking forward to Tuesday’s tilt. This game continues one of the longest lacrosse rivalries in history. Cornell is coming of a tight contest with Lehigh yesterday. Let’s hope both sides are healthy( rumor is Long is out for Cornell), as I don’t want to hear any Big Red excuses after we take them down in Ithaca. I’ll buy cocktails(fog cutters at the Rongo) for the Hobart faithful :D

No excuses here as teams are supposed to have depth at all positions and have guys ready to step in when someone goes down. The kid that filled in for Long did great yesterday with 2 beautiful assists. Looking forward to a great game at the Kopf Tuesday night.

Injuries are a reality for every team. I remember, with great anticipation, seeing the crescent as we rumbled down the hill and then back up the hill to Schoelkopf. Although the game was traditionally played on a Wednesday -- with shirtless, drunken KE brothers falling off the Crescent railing--I'm just hopeful that we can regain our competitive footing against the enemy on the shore of Cayuga! hip Hobart!

Unfortunately, the Rongo is no more as we all sadly know. Garrett's Brewery is occupying that space now. Floor layout is the same. Just none of the fun beverages that FMU mentioned. You could also stop in at Trumansburg Wine & Spirits and say "Hello" to former Hobart AA Jerry Kraus. An alternative along Rte 89 is the Glenwood Pines restaurant if you're heading south from Geneva. It's about 20 minutes from there to the game.

A stop off at the Rongo was a right of passage. Takedown the Triumvirate of "Bastards"-Suffering-Dying-Dead and somehow make it back to Geneva. Good Luck boys.

In other Hobart news, and this was not unexpected, hoped he’d play 1 more but knew he wasn’t planning on finishing his second contract out which would be 2 more. Ali Marpet officially retires. He’s have played another year if Brady did but was thinking about this and being a smart guy who was very prudent with his dough had been thinking about this for a while .
