I helped move the organization from Christian Jewish dialogue to embrace the same process with Islam, and we've made slow, but important strides.

I've watched people learn and grow as they became exposed to the beauty of other religious backgrounds and grew more aware of their prior biases and misunderstandings. I've learned and grown through this exposure.

Omar needs to grapple with this. I'll give her a chance.

On Omar's statement above, there's not necessarily an equivalence between "Israel" and Judaism or Jews. It's more complicated. What she meant though, may well have been anti-semitic, so I'm not letting her off the hook. But I'd give her a chance to redeem herself, and time to do so.
