Re: ODAC 2022
Brother, my advice would be to ignore the trolls. There seems to be a loud contingent of anti-Roanoke folks on the ODAC thread who like to talk about how the program is in decline, they should fire Pilat, etc. I don't think they're right, but I've learned that it isn't worth it to engage with them. (I suspect they are fathers of kids on the lesser programs in the conference who don't have the history that Roanoke has, and resent the attention that Roanoke gets.) And, frankly, the team isn't doing itself any favors by performing like they did on Saturday.
I know, like you, how much talent Roanoke has on the roster. I see how much the boys love Pilat, he's a remarkable leader. And I think the program has more glory days ahead. But, we'll see. The time for talking is long over. It's time to get some results between the lines.

Hot take Pilat is on the hot seat and will be gone after losing again in the first round of ODACS.BTM wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 5:15 pm Pilat ain't going anywhere unless it's on his own accord. Look, people underestimate the job he done for many years, given the support he gets from the administration. New facilities are top-notch, but it took a miracle, luck, and one generous donor to really get that going. Take a look at this link: https://roanokemaroons.com/information/ ... hips/index
See the overall decline? It's staggering. Even with the new facilities. That's a systemic issue. His competition on and off the field wants to win. The Roanoke administration strives to be mediocre. It's a battle he has fought for years and will continue to fight.

Re: ODAC 2022
First I wanted to discuss the current situation at W&L I have heard that there are conflicts between the captains on the offense and defense both seeing different paths for the season and ways to achieve their goals they set out for the season... come in the top three in the ODAC.
I have heard as Ferrum has struggled in recent years they have a new freshman attack who had various D2 offers chose to become a Panthers because of his legacy status(mother played soccer in '96). The kid is strong and is not your typical Panther they typically recruit I am expecting him to be in the top five in goals in the ODAC this year.
As Lynchburg always has good talent I have heard they are lacking in team chemistry this year as their "dry" fall prevents the team from building real chemistry needed in order to know your teammates better in a sense off the field. This is coming from a friend of the program who is very much involved on and off the turf. I imagine realistically LYN will be 11-6 this season with some disappointing losses late in the year.
Lastly RMC is looking good as #15 has been looking good alongside his new counterpunch on the midfield with #7 and #48 both who has surprised RMC fans this fall.

Why would he be gone? Unless he's ruffled admin feathers. If the Admin doesn't care enough to support the program, they shouldn't care about the results. Unless they want to simply get younger or cheaper.ODAC_daddy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 10:14 amHot take Pilat is on the hot seat and will be gone after losing again in the first round of ODACS.BTM wrote: ↑Mon Feb 14, 2022 5:15 pm Pilat ain't going anywhere unless it's on his own accord. Did you just say Lynchburg will be worse off because they didn't get to drink together in the fall?

Not saying anything in that sense just pointing out from a source inside that they lack the chemistry they had in the years past. I would love to see LYN stick it to the Gennies again this year let's hope the chemistry is sorted out.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:07 pmWait, I know the ODAC. How would not being able to drink stop players from hanging out with each other? Last year there were bigger obstacles in the fall than being "dry", like limiting the number of students in a room and that team seemed to have chemistry.Leehorseman wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:34 pmHonestly I can see this being a good and bad thing for LYN this is new to me can anyone confirm this is true?smoova wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:14 pmDon't stop him, he's on a roll.kramerica.inc wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 2:07 pm Did you just say Lynchburg will be worse off because they didn't get to drink together in the fall?

1) please refrain from mentioning Ferrum and their D2 caliber transfers (not a compliment) on the same post as W&L and LYN.Maconlaxdad3 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 16, 2022 1:53 pm First I wanted to discuss the current situation at W&L I have heard that there are conflicts between the captains on the offense and defense both seeing different paths for the season and ways to achieve their goals they set out for the season... come in the top three in the ODAC.

Your take on LYN is atrocious, if getting drunk is your margin of if a team is good or not then I suggest you visit this website
https://www.aa.org
RMC, will be the same as they always are, middle of the pack unable to produce against the top Dogs (LYN, HSC, W&L) although W&L is looking like they are going to be a train wreck this year. Also Ferrum talk seems to be a big stretch- almost sounds like it may be another son of yours. A lot of D2 teams would lose to top D3 teams. If I were you I'd log of before you make yourself look like an even bigger idiot and stick to tennis
