Did you or your children go to Mt St Marys?
Re: 2022 Rankings - D1 Women
That’s awesome!!!
Re: 2022 Rankings - D1 Women
Of course it's not AWESOME!... But it's better than the teams below them. Keep in mind, these rankings are based 100% on quality wins (and losses) in 2022. Thus far, in 2022, with a W over Towson, MSM is towards the top of the pile.

I was being nice. The Mount didn’t have a great legacy in my family.

I agree, the MSM win over Towson was a nice one--on the road too. I'm learning to take these lists for what they are. Interesting to look at on occasion. Helps track other teams that don't get much ink in the mainstream.

if this was an attempt to be some what objective about the rankings..yikes. Sometimes just plugging numbers into a computer is not the best idea when it comes to more nuanced things.

It's true. I took the list from FanLax Computer's output. I'm sure he'll make an appearance once the season is in full swing and he's properly agitated.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 4:41 amSay, were you collaborating with FanLax Computer on this? How is Cuse above UNC? Beating JMU on the road 15-8 is much more impressive than Cuse beating Stanford 12-9 at home. Even in these rankings JMU is ranked above Stanford.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 9:57 pm Rankings should be based on each team's resume, specifically, each team's best wins and worst losses. At the end of 2021, Stanford was above JMU. As we get deeper into 2022, we'll use the 2022 Rankings as the foundation.Lewisfrederick wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 6:05 pmHow is Cuse above UNC? lol - No one should be giving laxreference any gruff considering how horrible this ranking of teams is. Even when I look at the final 2021 rankings, it is pretty clear that there are gaping holes in the simplistic formula/methodology used to calculate this ranking.
Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest you be like him yourself.
Re: 2022 Rankings - D1 Women
I'm sorry, but this list is simply ridiculous. There are teams on here in the top 20 that clearly do not belong and will not be there at the end of the season. To think that Mount St. Mary's, William & Mary, Marquette, Vanderbilt, Davidson, Vermont, Canisius, George Mason and Pitt are top 20 teams is simply a farce. 9 of your top 20 teams are not even close to being in the top 20.Matnum PI wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 9:57 pm Rankings should be based on each team's resume, specifically, each team's best wins and worst losses. Why play one against the other? Let’s give ‘em both guff@inthe8m wrote: ↑Tue Feb 15, 2022 1:29 pm lol - No one should be giving laxreference any gruff considering how horrible this ranking of teams is. To be fair though—Matnum explained in the first post that this is a Best Win/Worst Loss ranking. It’s not to be understood in the same way as weekly polls.
