Let’s see:
Inflation at 40 year high
Crime up in every single NYC precinct
Random acts of incalculable mayhem all through NYC these days
DA Bragg despised by every cop
74% of NYC residents are fearful
Asians being assaulted throughout NYC
1,379,210 NYS residents between 2010 and 2019 permanently left the state
versus
1,000 net new people moving into the state of Florida every single day (are they fearful?)
I wonder what MD and Natty Boh know that all the people leaving and coming don’t know?!?
It always comes down to basic math, folks. Don’t let the propaganda ever fool you.

Wonder how much of an effect media has on violent crime rates. Especially TV and social media specifically designed to make people angry with a lot of artificially inflated scandals and issues. I remember a golf tournament years ago. Guy I was playing against was turning beet red in anger about Kaepernick kneeling. We weren't even talking or arguing about it, he just started going off on his own after hearing a score update. He probably felt like he was in a safe space and probably thought we agreed with him. I didn't say anything, just let him vent.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 9:47 amI wonder if Petey might consider that his list might actually be part of why the violent crime rate is higher in Florida than New York?NattyBohChamps04 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 9:36 am So it boils down to the fact that Florida has higher violent crime rates, they just don't care about it as much. Funny what people open up and talk about when they feel like you're they're kind of people. Lots of casual racist and sexist talk on the golf course too. It's a lot better than it was a few decades ago, but still, yeesh.

The only times I ever hear the name ‘Colin Kapernick’ is when Democrats use the name to try to make some incoherent point about ‘Republicans are racist’.
No one cares about Colin one way or the other. He’s a committed activist is all. Let him do his thing.

But why is Florida so violent?
Of course, I'll likely be in a gated community...so I guess I won't care about it?

It's the same with every right wing boogeyman du jour. We've got a few kooks in the neighborhood and on the course who just randomly start up complaints about CRT, trans athletes and more. Just minding your own business on a walk or making the turn and they're frothing at the mouth with "hey, did you see this? did you hear about this?"

It’s not old fuddy duds moving here anymore. Miami has become a real hub of finance and tech. The Space Coast has become America’s aviation headquarters.

Also, MD, as you know, desantis is a fascist , so when you try to move here, we stop your U-Haul at the border and demand first to know your party allegiance. Assuming you agree to not bring your left of center politics into our state (we are familiar with invasive species, like the Burmese python), you’re welcome to enter.

Two diametrically opposed ideas, yes. And the fact that you didn't notice that is hilarious.

Where? You mean in Florida? Murder and crime rates are higher in Republican run States, because crime is a function of poverty.Peter Brown wrote: ↑Thu Feb 10, 2022 7:51 am I gather you prefer to allow the murders to keep accelerating?
Any plans for us, Pete? Anything on Fentanyl? Crack?

It’s odd that the top five states seeing a mass exodus are all Democrat-controlled. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, California, New York, New Jersey, Michigan and Illinois lost a combined 4 million residents between 2010 and 2019. Conversely, a recent study by U-Haul reported that the top five states to see the greatest influx of new residents include the Republican-led states of Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Ohio and Arizona.
What do you know that these migrating morons don’t?!? You need a bigger megaphone to warn everyone of the dangers of red states.

Quite false.
But hey U-Haul says so!
Here's the actual data.
https://worldpopulationreview.com/states
While it is true that some of the largest growth has been in states with warmer climates, so too among the faster growth states are Washington State, which is both quite blue and colder. Even faster growth in DC and Colorado.
And two of the states with the worst population loss are two of the "reddest", Mississippi and West Virginia.
California has grown more than 6% over the last decade.
Of Petey's 5 "blue" examples, only New York lost net residents over the past decade, and less than 1% of its population. About 200,000 net loss.
But hey, don't let the truth get in the way of a good disinformation trolling campaign.
BTW, Florida's median age is 3 years older than NY, 5 years older than California. Fastest growth is in the 65 and up group.

Pointing out that blue state citizens are justified being scared to live in blue state cities is ‘being wrong’? Did you need me to link the poll again? Happy to oblige.

You were wrong, flat wrong about high crime states. Then you were wrong, flat wrong about net losses in 5 specific states.
Total whiff.
You are correct that many of the fastest growing states are also red, but so too, some are blue. Some of the growth is from foreign immigrants, some is aging baby boomers seeking warmer climates. There really isn't a correlation, much less causal effect, shown from the data, much as you may wish it were so.
False. Trolling.
You were also wrong, flat wrong about Florida's aging demographic due to those retiring baby boomers. It's only mediated by immigrants from abroad and relatively high birth rates among those populations. Net, net, older.

Inflation???
yeah, we have high inflation right now. No connection to either high crime rates in Florida and other red states versus blue states, no relationship with population movement over past decade.
Again, a whiff.
