But I don’t see anything that requires them to place the kid back on the team.
From the story:
In the case of “John Stiles” — the first case filed in December using a pseudonym for the alleged attacker — United States District Judge Mary McElroy Tuesday ruled that Brown must allow him back on campus.

Moreover, McElroy said “Stiles” can be allowed back on the lacrosse team.
“Must” be allowed back on campus but “can” be allowed to resume extracurricular. Big difference since “must” was used with respect to his being in campus. Courts use words purposefully and with specific intent as you know. I would imagine Daly has discretion and his decision will be monitored if not directly influenced by his institutional superiors. That decision will be interesting without knowing much anything about the underlying facts.
Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Like I said it’ll be interesting. Hope everyone comes out of the situation as better people whatever the outcome.

2022 4-star commit Jake East is going to pass on Brown, and lacrosse altogether, to play football at Cal Poly. Freak athlete, big loss for Bruno. Hope it works out for the young man.

I understand that Brown is scrimmaging Albany on Saturday, the 12th, at noon at Stevenson Field. It is not on either website, and I have no idea what the protocols will be for attendance. Attend at your own risk!!

I think Brown is a real sleeper here. They have a chance to be great, returning guys like Enchill, Gaydos, Geppert, Aughavin, Grell, Moshyedi, etc. The thing I really want to see is how we do in cage after 8 or 9 years of AA goalie play, how the Attack clicks with a new lineup (only Cook returns from the UVA W, plus McLane from last year's lone BU game), and SSDM with the departure of Stewart. If Daly can plug those holes well (not a given), I think the Bears should make the Ivy Tourney for the sixth straight year (last two years it was not held). Last time Brown missed the Ivy Tourney was 2014, if my recollection is correct. Goof luck, guys!

Good job by the Bears today, after trailing 4-1 at the end of Q1. 8-4 Brown at the half, and 12 or so to 5 after Q3, when starters were pulled. Lots of players saw the field for both teams. Albany goaltender was lights out in Q1. Brown placed its shots better thereafter. Lots of movement, both of ball and feet, in the offensive end, and multiplayer swarms on ground balls.

Brown kicks off the season on Saturday vs. Quinnipiac. Should be a good game for the Bears to get the kinks out. Brown has struggled in some of these early season games and it does not get easier for them as they face UNC on Wednesday in their 2nd game. Let's go Brown State!

The key for the Bears is not to look past Q-pac. That happened 4 or so years ago, and Q-pac took down the Bears in OT. WED and UNC are ages away. Let's go get one tomorrow, Bears!!! Ground ball by ground ball!!!

Yeah Q has been a consistent early season wrinkle. We still have Darian Cook?! Sweet. Some studs on this crew, Bruno underrated.

Plenty to work on for Brown, but have to be happy with the result. Looked like a team with a lot of pieces, just have to get them in the right spots.
--7-middie rotation for Brown throughout the 1st half? Was pretty surprising to see the first offensive possession without Aughavin and Grell out there.
--Offense looks nice when it runs through Cook, what a smooth player. Mclane not afraid to shoot the ball. Maybe coaches will move one of the big middies down to attack to get some more fire power out of that 3rd spot.
--Quinnipiac not a very strong squad this year, but their FO specialist is talented--was the MAAC specialist of the year last year, and Gunty went 65% against him. Good day.
--Small sample size, but Theriault clearly had a better half in goal.
--UNC probably thrilled to have a midweek game after getting thrashed. Bears better be focused and play a clean game for a chance @ a W.

FO crew for UNC was not impressive yesterday. Lost clamps and GBs. Breschi rotated three guys looking for a solution but didn't find one. If Gunty keeps a hot hand, this is gettable. Chris Gray, however, is still a problem that needs to be solved. He moves beautifully and sees the field. His passing is just as impressive as his ball handling. A couple of times it looked as if he was already starting his dodge a split second before he caught the ball. His stick protection looks more like it was imported from Canada than bred in LI.

Can't remember the last time Bears had so many mids who could play during real time- at least against the Q's of the lacrosse world. Curious to see the rotation against 'Heels. I'll be otherwise involved, so if replay unavailable I'm relying on this thread for rundown.

As I mentioned, a good game vs Quinnipiac to get the kinks out. It's always nice to play against someone other than yourselves with a real game on the line. Now we move to Chapel Hill where the Bears take on a UNC team that was handled by Ohio State. UNC has been struggling with their midfield production so we will see how that goes for this game. It will be interesting to see how Brown matches up defensively, especially against Gray. Do they go primarily man or do they jump into zone. Game looks like it might be wet and Dorrance field can be a little slippery when wet. Let's go Bears! Brown State!

Daly looks to play the hot hand in his lineups from what I can tell. As a freshman Geppert matched up on Sowers and held him to season lows--so he can cover elite smaller/quicker players. Don't know who would be considered the #1 coverman though, as Gaydos is a very nice player. Probably man to man unless things really go off the track....

It will be interesting to see how Brown plays offense as well. OSU moved the ball north-south, with lots of interior feeds to the crease once they had UNC focussed on the outside middies getting time and room. Brown seems to move more east-west, and UNC has great SSDMs, so that strategy may not play out.

Good luck to Brown today. Ivy wins OOC are very important for the League, especially a road win against an ACC powerhouse like UNC.
Should be a great game and a good barometer for the Bears.

Now, if Brown can win a few face-offs... Nice 1q comeback. Go Bears!
