... it was a nothing event, mildest cold ever, but I am vaccinated. Scratchy (not sore) throat for a few days, little post nasal drip and general body fatigue, minor night sweat one night. Can't figure out how I got it. Wife and relatives didn't get it. No one else in the house got it. Didn't quarantine while sick. The most likely was when wife and I ate out on a Sunday evening in a bar & grill that was nearly deserted. It was just as omicron was starting to be mentioned in the news. Something like 3% of US cases at the time. Neither of us wore masks. The bar & restaurant staff were all in masks. Earlier that afternoon we had stopped by my son's house to see my new granddaughter. Apart from that, I had not gone anywhere but walking on my own property for weeks. Hadn't come into contact with anyone. Had a PCR done a few days after the symptoms cleared and it was positive.Farfromgeneva wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 10:53 amI’m still avoiding the Omi because I’ve been told you lose your taste for meat for like 6-9 months. Death might be a better option that recovery given that.
Since then the last two times I have come into contact with house cats, I had no reaction to them. Normally within 30 minutes of entering a house with a cat, I have an allergic reaction. Very weird. I suspect this is just a coincidence, perhaps the house with the cats has been cleaned in recent times. We will see.
