MAC - The SEC of DIII lacrosse.
Re: Towson 2021
When does the 22 roster post?
Re: Towson 2021
With that new roster, do we have just two FOGOS in Santora and Constantinides?
Re: Towson
You can throw this out there also. Towson according to lacrosse reference has the 8th best non- conference schedule going into this year. Overall, they have 12th ranked strength of schedule. UMASS is at 22, Drexel & Delaware at 35 & 36. This isn’t worthy of being in the CAA topic. One of the teams in the CAA has a premiere schedule …. “No big deal “. Hahaha.
Re: Towson
The problem with Lacrosse Reference strength of schedule,
they’re projecting SoS forward.
Schedule strength changes by year end depending on if a
team gets, say, to the conference finals or even to the NCAAs.
Its a seriously flawed measure.
But, it doesn’t take any fancy analysis to see that the Tigers
have one of the best schedules in the country this year.
That’s great since this gives the Tigers two ways into
the tournament.

Re: Towson
Nothing is perfect. But, Lacrosse Reference does a good job
and puts a ton of effort in to it. Towsons schedule is way out in front of any other schedule in the conference.

Re: Towson
Roster looks Great. It’s the year of the Tiger. Not the Princeton one. Towson might be only team in conference with 2 Nd bid chance. Need couple big wins early. Drexel and Delaware both good with some decent games. Not sure of number, but would like to see all of these teams games against top 20 teams. Maybe post in CAA thread? Also bottom 25 teams. Think Towson has 7-8 top 20 and no bottom 25. Could see Hofstra/Fairfield by end of season.
Re: Towson
It will be pretty crucial for this team to start the season at least 3-2 for a chance to get in the at-large conversation. Once again, Face-off play will determine how a lot of these games go, not just the early season games, but for the entire season.Neverplaydown wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 9:05 am Roster looks Great. Re: Towson
Drexel did that 5-6 years in a row, top 20 schedules, UVA, Georgetown, Notre Dame, the Connor Fields Thompsons Albany teams, Terps a couple years.Neverplaydown wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 9:05 am Roster looks Great. It really did not do them much good getting pounded with
their OOC schedule, so they throttled it back.
Not so easy to get these teams back on your schedule.
Hens, with Grant Jr. it looks like that Hopkins game should be a
regular thing, plus they added Duke.
Re: Towson
Drexel played Virginia under Dom Starsia . They followed that up playing Albany when they had there run. They did this for 5-6 years. But, Towson is playing 2 FF teams, one being Va - Nat Champs and Duke. Along with Loyola, Denver, Hopkins, Richmond, and UMBC. There isn’t a comparison in the Conference. Delaware kept there schedule low key the last 3-4 years. But it was time to add some teams to the schedule.
Re: Towson
Here's the problem with this measure of SOS and it's extremely flawed but also: this team has a very strong SOS based entirely on my own personal observations10stone5 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 5:30 am The problem with Lacrosse Reference strength of schedule,

Sam had a really nice spring at Anne Arundel CC in 2021, picking up 1st team AA and MD Juco Offensive POTY honors. https://aaccathletics.com/sports/mlax/2 ... 0603wad3xj10stone5 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 8:15 am Michael Weisshaar 2022-23 Midfielder,

So, what are his strengths? Assuming has some speed. Feeder, dodger, shooter ?JustPassingThrough wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 9:51 amSam had a really nice spring at Anne Arundel CC in 2021, picking up 1st team AA and MD Juco Offensive POTY honors. https://aaccathletics.com/sports/mlax/2 ... 0603wad3xj10stone5 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 8:15 am Michael Weisshaar 2022-23 Midfielder,

Re: Towson
Alright guys, I think we know who the goalie (Brennan) and three close defensemen (Koby, Barsz, Zunagaila) will be. Assume we know the F/O (Constantanides) and not 100% sure about the pole other than Mo or maybe Collins O'Connoer, but let's guess the top six on offense. Just guessing the midfield. I hope we just don't go experience and more with potential, but I understand they don't want turnovers,
Attack: Avanzato, Demaio, Milani
Mid 1: Swain, Weisshaar, Berkeley
Mid 2: Gaskins, Webber, Stewart,
Mid 3: Ducommun, Anderson, Drew Martin

Re: Towson
Very effective dodger with some speed and good strength for his size. Seemed like a high IQ player, but didn't have the kind of support to show how good he might be as a feeder or shooter. Put up points vs top Maryland JUCOs, each with 1-2 D1 caliber poles.Mr3Putt wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 11:18 amSo, what are his strengths? Assuming has some speed.
