All things CoronaVirus
Re: All things CoronaVirus
How many lives might have been saved if therapeutics had been available, oh I don't know, say 6 mos. ago?

Re: All things CoronaVirus
That is not my point. My wife and I can't figure out how a doctor who is anal retentive in all matters Covid comes down with it as did his teenage daughter. His wife and 3 other kids all living in the same house in close proximity to each other don't get Covid. How does that happen? If Covid and the new variants are highly contagious everyone in this doctors family should have tested positive. I'm saying that you can do everything right but you can still get Covid.SCLaxAttack wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 10:32 amHow many times do people have to remind others that it’s not just about themselves?cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 9:17 am Last week one of the doctors in the office where my wife works became pretty sick and tested positive for Covid. His daughter tested positive and is thought to be the source. The doctors wife and three other kids are Covid free. My sisters daughter and husband both tested positive. They both have been anal retentive when it comes to protecting themselves from Covid. Can you really protect yourself or is it just a matter of time before you get Covid?
My son’s immunocompromised mother-in-law asked all family members to test before coming for Christmas Eve. His 3YO tested positive with just a runny nose so they stayed home. By Christmas night he, his wife, and their 2YO had the same symptoms. But guess what? Since my son and daughter-in-law are vaccinated and boosted they probably won’t die, or be a physical or financial burden on our public health system. Hooray!

I agree, I'm a huge advocate for wearing masks. My wife and I are both fully vaccinated and boostered. My wife and I both still work. We both wear masks at work.RedFromMI wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 10:21 amMy information says you can do a pretty good job of protecting yourself if you wear a N95/KN94 mask in public situations when you cannot avoid some contact (say going to the grocery store). Otherwise keep your close contacts to only those vaxxed & preferably boosted.cradleandshoot wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 9:17 am Last week one of the doctors in the office where my wife works became pretty sick and tested positive for Covid. But the best protection is still vaccination by a LONG shot.

Can you give us a hint? Is it more or less than the number of lives that might have been saved if politicians of every stripe had promoted vaccines over the same period?

That's what I thought. Thank you.

It's not a query based on statistics (you don't understand that?). It's a rhetorical food-for-thought query, and a relevant one.smoova wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 3:10 pmThat's what I thought. Thank you.

Re: All things CoronaVirus
A lot of things would have helped six months ago (i.e. before Delta broke out).
How about stockpiling one billion tests so they'd be available for a rainy variant day? There was almost no need/demand for tests six months ago. Would have been easy to do.
How about the millions of vax refuse-niks taking their free shots six months ago? Or being forced them to take them? No shot no job. No shot, pay $200 surcharge on your insurance.

Boycott stupid. If you ignore the gator troll, eventually he'll just go back under his bridge.

How many lives would have been saved if HCL and Ivermectin worked? Roots Tonic is the way!
“I wish you would!”

More would have died, Tech, had they chosen this path of yours.
I'm finding it difficult to believe that you don't understand this.
Re: All things CoronaVirus
Yes! of course... who's arguing? We should have all available means to beat this. The only difference? I'm not telling "refuse-niks" how they should live their lives. If other medical options had been available sooner, we might not be in this divisive position.ggait wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 3:30 pmA lot of things would have helped six months ago (i.e. before Delta broke out).

You don't know what I mean by "this path of yours"??
You wanted "therapeutics" available 6 months ago, right? And you've also been telling us that you wanted Biden and his administration to tell the public in every Covid briefing that these therapeutical are available, for free, to every American, right?
That's your path, correct? The one that you're angry that we didn't take, correct?

Re: All things CoronaVirus
You must not understand that therapeutics are just as effective as vaccines, if not more effective. Biden and the public health officials don’t want to pursue an effective strategy. “They” are purposely denying pharmaceutical companies the opportunity to develop medications that will help. These officials would rather see the global economy disrupted instead of repurposing an existing medication for COVID.a fan wrote: ↑Mon Dec 27, 2021 3:43 pmYou don't know what I mean by "this path of yours"??
