Looks like the crown classic clowns decided to not even bother streaming after their embarrassing stream quality from Friday. Well, that's an interesting solution.

The one thing I've been talking about all year has been turnovers and that has reared its ugly head in a 13-6 score to just start the third quarter. Shane Brennan came in to replace Canto in 2nd half and has allowed one early goal. But 5-2 lead turns into a 12-6 Cornell run of 10-1. Still time left but ugly start.

Woodall also got replaced for the last 4 or 5 face-offs by McNallen, but Alex is getting back in the game.

Bad news, good news. Bad loss today but we'll get back at it next week. Good pick up in Ridge Johnson, 6-0, 185-pound defenseman with a lot of speed.

Turnovers will be the issue w this team. 23 turnovers today. At halftime you talk etc ...5 after halftime in the 3rd. Clearing was 5-11 after 3quarters. 8 saves total. Rough outing ! Cornell is v good. But, Towson clearly did not have it today !

I know it was tough to watch the game but it was on, sort of. Canto or Brennan for next week against Duke?

So the Tigers hit the proverbial wall.
What can one expect ?
Hopkins, Georgetown, Loyola, Cornell, Duke, Denver.
That’s as tough an OOC as anyone. That line up is one of the reasons strength of schedule measures really come up short.
Nadelen set up the Tigers for success this year, revamping the line up in short order, setting up a gauntlet of a schedule to give the Tigers two ways into the NCAAs.
A win over Duke or Denver, and the Tigers are a lock.
The Tigers are a physical team.
Get back to physical play.

Some great observations in this post on Cornell thread.

viewtopic.php?f=118&t=374&start=440#p31698

So question is, what happened ?
What did Cornell’s coaches do to throw off the Tigers after the 4-1 start ?

Figure out some of those questions, as you can be sure the Duke coached scouted this game.

What happened? Petterson 8g 10 shots Danville 3g 3 shots. Piatelli 4g 5 shots. You let 1 person score 8g on 10 shots . ! Huh!!! And you gave it back & you gave it back some more. 23 turnovers. Then you have a pro draft in the middle of the week where 2 of the top picks are Towson players. When you have 3 players score 15 goals on 18 shots that’s not the goalie ! Then you go 5–11 clearing for 3 quarters ... really ? Which adds to giving it back to Teat & company. Cornell is v good . But this was gift wrapped w bacon !

We hit the wall alright. Where was that goalie who stood on his head vs loyola? Where was the defensive attitude? Where was the faceoff Fire? Can’t say it was a surprise. Actually saw it coming. Jacksonville almost got us first. Too much dancing in the locker room, patting each other on the backs and reading our own press clippings. Let’s hope we can find that drive again.

Good points all.
Can’t argue with any of them.

Take the frustations of this loss out on Duke.
You beat Duke, you’re in the NCAAs.

Because, and unfortunately this comes with the territory of being a former number one team, now top five - a couple of the early wins don’t look nearly as great now. They may look better later as conference play commences.

There had to be a loss in the schedule....this one was as good as any.

Goalie, team defense, fogo, fire....all still there. Considering the ugly stats, I feel that this team, when they play complete lacrosse, is as good as it gets.

I don't believe that is the culture at TU....rankings are for parents - The Seniors are on a mission, to get back to the FF, by putting all of the b.s. from last season behind them.

A Duke win always looks good on the resume, no matter the year.

I don't know what dancing means after beating No. 1. Act you've been there? We haven't, so let's remember, this team played two games in three days, one in a torrential downpour and the next game in a sloppy field. One of our strengths is speed and that's taken away by a sloppy grass field.

Face-offs were not that bad. Gaining possession after winning them was. In the little I saw of the game, Cornell double Woodall a lot and then on offense, they went after Monahan, forced the others to beat them. Turnovers. That's been the issue all season and it didn't really bite us in the ass until Sunday. Got outplayed and outcoached. Wish we didn't have to play Duke after the lopsided loss but this will show what they are made of.

As for Canto, tough to blame him when most of those 12 goals were layups. I would go back with him but who knows? Is Brennan better for the clearing game? That's a major issue right now. Maybe that's what Nads is thinking if he goes back to him.

We have to remember 2 games in 3 days in how you win a championship. Think this was a good test for Towson, and a quick wake up call that when you are #1 everyone is coming for you, you have to stay hungry.

AT Duke then home against Denver, should be two great games.

Towson has to get off the floor & adjust. W this staff I don’t see it being problem. Duke - #15 Tai Montgomery is a an issue outside. He will release from 12-15. He will shoot off a screen. Basically a 3pt shooter. Cornell is #1 in shooting % in D1. And, it’s not unusual. Towson had a bad day. Plus. It’s like seeing a golf course the first time. They didn’t see the blind spots . Cornell deserves a ton of credit

Fought hard but had an 8-6 lead and then Fromert misses a short shot on EMO, Maloof has a layup he shoots wide. And turnovers were just horrific. Were 8-of-14 on clears. That's inexcusable and 24 turnovers. Can't blame weather or surface this week. Can't beat great teams with 24 turnovers. So we were right there and just have to cut down on TO's next week against Denver.

On the plus side, Sunday with four goals and Canto was excellent with 16 saves.

Not enough shots on goal also, with that advantage at face off.
Just have the O go through Sunday, he makes the better judgements on offense, sometimes with mistakes, but he’s the best option.
The offense has taken a step back the last two games.
