"Best legs" is highly inappropriate, even as an attempt at humor, given that this is a women's lacrosse forum.

What do you mean by that? The context here is sexism and sexist remarks. Are you inferring that I am guilty of making similar remarks? Please point them out if that’s what you’re trying to do. All written indelible Internet words on FanLax. Very easy to do a search by word by member.8meterPA wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 9:07 amkettle, meet pot.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 4:40 amDMac wrote: ↑Tue Dec 14, 2021 11:11 pmMy knee jerk reaction is to say blow it out your asz, but inasmuch as that would likely garner a whistle, play on, I'll just recognize your "highly inappropriate" for what it is. I think the "pot/kettle" was suggesting OWN has also said things that could be an offense to players or their parents. Different types of comments but both unnecessary.

Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
Now that’s a whole different kettle of fish, tothedraw. My commentary on women’s lacrosse and the players and the teams isn’t any different than it would be for any other sport. That’s a far cry from making sexist remarks about young women. Please.
Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
Indeed, it's quite alright to stomp around in the wlax world with harsh words of criticism but dare ye not mention how nice the braided hair looks as that's highly inappropriate and cringeworthy. While I respect Mrs. 8meter's right to her opinion I disagree with it. The time to pay a woman, young or old, a compliment has not passed, not by a long shot. Was in the grocery store two days ago, the young cashier had her hair in braids, two of them, one on each side a little below the shoulders in length. Hadn't ever seen the girl before but I said I really like those braids they look really nice. I didn't get a scowl or any mention of that being a cringeworthy comment, all I got was a lit up face and smile. Might have even brightened the girl's day up a bit and made her feel good for a second. Imagine that. This is my nature, I do this kind of thing regularly and I know the reactions I get when I do it. I'm a noticer, if you come in with your hair frosted a little along with a little different hair do I will notice that and tell you it looks nice. What I'm more likely to get than a scowl is a thank you, DMac, you're the only one who noticed and said something (this has happened to me more than once).8meterpa wrote

Promise you this, if I don't know who Meg Carney and Emma Ward are and they're standing in front of me in line at the Post Office with some sort of lacrosse jersey on I'm saying to those two, "I'm bettin' you two fit, nice looking young ladies aren't just wearing those jerseys, I'm bettin' you are lacrosse players." Now what do you think would happen after that, a scowl, slap in the face and dash to get as far away from me as quickly as possible, or a smile and "yes, we are" followed by a pleasant, however brief, conversation? I know the answer to that because I've done it (not with those two but I'd welcome opportunity).
You walk on eggshells in the overly sensitive world of wlax in this respect. Noticing the feminine touch of a ribbon in the hair of a wlaxer isn't cringeworthy and doesn't mean that you don't see good athletes competing on the field. It's not a bad thing folks, some of you are just overly protective, quickly lose your sense of humor and way too thin skinned about it all.
Maria Sharapova, Anna Kournakova, Serena Williams, Alex Aust and many, many other female athletes don't seem be so thinned skinned or mind being complimented. Just sayin'.
Come hang with me a bit, my friend, and you'll find anything but a creepy old man. What you might find is a guy quick to smile, makes friends easily and is pretty fun to be around. Only here in the sensitive world of wlax would I ever get a comment such as yours.hmmm wrote

Like I said, I don't think you mean anything by it. And I believe what you say. Just saying it could be construed that way by some people that are a little more sensitive about the subject.DMac wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 12:48 pmIndeed, it's quite alright to stomp around in the wlax world with harsh words of criticism but dare ye not mention how nice the braided hair looks as that's highly inappropriate and cringeworthy. Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
you are correct - plenty of offensive comments about specific players (SS from Syr comes to mind), and then stalking players insta pages is really creepy to me, but hey that may be normal for sports radio call in guests.
btw, if you tell my daughter she has a great smile and you like her hair - she will smile and say thank you. If you tell her she was a beast on the field she will also smile and say thank you as well.
If you post frame by frame video of her on a particularly hard ride and accuse her of something other than aggressive play, she will tell you to f**k off.
Re: Miscellaneous questions, thoughts, impressions, etc.
Yeah mine would do the same. Now if DMac came up to her and told her she had nice legs as he posted as well she may give him a sideways look on that one.8meterPA wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 3:16 pmyou are correct - plenty of offensive comments about specific players (SS from Syr comes to mind), and then stalking players insta pages is really creepy to me, but hey that may be normal for sports radio call in guests.

Excuse me--but what offensive comment did I make about Sam Swart please?
And this? "stalking players insta pages"?
These are slanderous remarks. How convenient that no quotes or proof are provided. Nope--just petty, childish potshots. Feels like an attempt at revenge for being called out for the insulting insensitive mental health comments.

What possible difference does it make where slander occurs? The medium or vehicle is irrelevant. Slander is slander. Because it is an anonymous internet forum where posters, including me, post by pseudo names. No one but a few know who I am for real or who you are. So by definition if you want to say you are slandered then yes, you are. Some anonymous gal/guy named...what ever your name is this year....is being "slandered" by another anonymous gal/guy named 8MeterPA. This slander may really affect your standing among the other anonymous individuals posting on this forum you should seek retribution from the Admin. Don't take this stuff so seriously.

Please. No one likes being falsely accused—anonymously or not. I can’t go along with a blithe attitude regarding slander. It’s illegal in the outside world for a reason. It should be illegal here. If a member can’t provide a quote as proof as to what another member has written, then that member shouldn’t engage in slanderous personal attacks. Period—paragraph—story over.Bart wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 7:15 amBecause it is an anonymous internet forum where posters, including me, post by pseudo names.
