Tampa upset by Assumption and falls to 2-3. Tampa up 8-5 at end of 3rd, and the Greyhounds score five straight to take the lead. Two goals for Tampa tie it up, and then Assumption wins it on a goal with 2:36 left in the game.
Dickerson was 18-23 at the FO...and the Greyhounds still take this one.

Re: Scores
Last week we were discussing the record breaking scoring for a certain game of mis-matched opponents...
Last night Limestone showed a way to avoid that territory. By quarters Stone 8 8 3 6, and Lees-McRae 0 0 3 2. It could have been 20 or more in the first half. But in the second half, with essentially no starters in the game, much of the time you saw Stone keep the ball until maybe 15 seconds left on the shot clock. Then they would try to take a shot or two. They sat without shooting on at least two EMOs, waiting for the shot clock to get low.
BTW, the Saints record for goals scored in a game is 33 (2000 vs Mars Hill). They lit up Lees-McRae twice for 31 in 2004 and 2005. But since 2011 they have not scored more than 28 in a game (2011 against Lees-McRae).

Re: Scores
Tampa pulled one out right at the end. It looks like a couple of their scorers (Kew and Wright) aren't in the lineup. Does anyone know the story?

Re: Scores
Pretty sure Wright has been out with an injury...not sure what. Not sure about Kew.

Re: Scores
I looked a little deeper into the stats, and Kew was playing at the end of game 4, but has not played in the last two.

Re: Scores
Crazy ending for the St. Leo game. A 70+ yard shot for a goal was released prior to the buzzer, but invalidated due to a call for interference with the goalie (after the buzzer, while the ball was in the air). Probably the right call, but put it in the "never seen that before" file.

Re: Scores
I saw that too - the interference seemed to be an Assumption kid drilling the St. Leo's goalie, which understandably drew the ire of several St. Leo's kids, who started shoving, and a crowd formed. It was teetering on the edge of a brawl for a few moments there, but order was quickly restored, and the handshake line was seemingly peaceful. It was definitely a weird final thirty seconds.WhiteCarrera wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2019 3:42 pm Crazy ending for the St. Leo game. Re: Scores
#2 Limestone defeated #14 Rockhurst 16-3
some perspective:
Rockhurst was averaging 18+ goals per game.
Rockhurst lost to Belmont Abbey 13-14 in overtime.

Re: Scores
I think Rockhurst is better than the 16-3 score, but Limestone took it to them. Seton Hill up next for Limestone which has been a tight game over the years.
Re: Scores
Queens lost by 1 to Limestone. Anyone see that game? Is Queens that good or was Stone off that day?
Re: Scores
I think Queens is pretty good, but Limestone was up 9-4 late in the third, and let Queens back in the game. Larson Sundown was also missing from the lineup for the game which probably made a pretty big difference to the Limestone offense.

Re: Scores
I disagree. I watched the Rockust/Montevallo game. At halftime, Rockhurst had won 14 of 15 facefoffs but were only up 7-6. They had many unforced turnovers. They went on to win the game by 7 but they had many more possessions and just didn't take advantage of that. I think the UIndy game will tell us if they are a pretender or contender.
