BTW, Wlax is 5-1. Only an OT loss to a much higher ranked Penn.

I’ve watched 4 of their games and they are looking sharp in all facets of their game.

Worth keeping an eye on as you follow Mlax.

Also, on 23 MAR, there will be a doubleheader at Homewood, with an event in between.

I would otherwise be there, but will be at a celebration of life ceremony.

Meanwhile, beat Cuse.

Is Cuse playing Vermont today in b-ball? What great memories.

Announcer said Cattoni not available for this game. Perhaps that's why we've seen new faces at midfield: Zinn, Mabbett, and Lilly have all gotten runs with the 2s.

Announcers are I guess what Pravadas coverage of a USSR-US hockey game would've been like. Blech, but they know their stuff better than some of the paid espn folks.
up
-superstar start
-really good in the 6v6 d. Foley and Rapine are winning their matchups
-Epstein
-2/2 emo, winning gbs, 6 ct (doc), perfect on clears.
-Baskin/keogh
-F/O. the loyola loss was bad, but it won us the knowledge narewski can ball.
-darby
-shooting percentage.

Meh
-Darby, Zinn, Epstein all having teachable moments in their young jay careers

Down
-They come out firing again and take the pedal off. too many mental mistakes and lack of focus. 2nd quarter has been a mess.
-Concannon two blown picks. he's a sr.
-Cole Williams doesn't always play hard. Lot of loafing.
-They lack finishers. 2-3 goals again left on the doorstep again. Nothing from forry or connor again altho he's had a few man clears.
-Bad in transition d which had been a strength, dearth w 2 goals.
-2nd game in a row they've given up an end of period goal. Need to play past the whistle.

No, the Pravda announcers actually talked about the game in front of them.

goalie has trouble with outside shot - middies have trouble with alley dodge
offense dormant - not going to be able to outscore this one

Game pretty much sums up Hopkins over the last decade or so. Offense looks like its typical Benson offense - cant adjust once defense makes changes. He has no ability to in game plan. Defense looks like a chicken with its head cut off running around chasing guys.

Darby is not very good goalie either. There were at least 3 today he needs to save.

Darby was good. they beat themselves. Forry/Connor 5 starts each 5 goals total and jones w a dumb penalty. 2/3 guys are captains. Cole doesn't play hard at all.

I thought this might have been the best game he played in goal so far.

Hopkins cannot get it done in the fourth... had opportunities to put cuse away and could not get it done, played better but still frustrating to watch.. Now the Big 10 schedule, should be interesting

Can we start with the long pole shot from 18 yards.

So from 3:26 in the 1st qtr., Hopkins was routed 13-5. Dismal 4th qtr. Two teams heading in different directions.

nope....it was closer. You got two more...

Darby made some pretty gosh darn good saves. Starting with the two to end the half......stop blaming the goalies

Blue Jays played well for three quarters, but two really bone-headed penalties by senior captain Jones helped to break open the game for Syracuse.

DeSimone is a real liability out there sometimes. He can’t beat his man and made some untimely turnovers. There aren’t any midfielders who are creating matchup problems for opponents. Petro should at least give some of his big freshmen middies more playing time.

It’s clear that Darby is very good at stopping low shots from close in, and his clearing has improved. However, he consistently struggles when teams stop trying to do anything fancy and bring the high heat from long range. This loss is not on Darby, by a long shot, but he needs to save a few more of those long range missiles.

Seems the Blue Jays can’t buy a win if they are losing faceoffs.

And what the heck were Hopkins defenders doing when the clock was running down and the Syracuse player was just standing there killing time?

Blue Jays are steadily improving, and this squad could wind up being a very good team. Plus, they just finished a tough series of road games. But Petro is running out of time.

I think it’s obvious now ... Blue Jays will need to win the B1G regular season and/or tournament title to reach the NCAA tournament. That’s not going to be easy.
