You still don't get it, and neither does the author. So long as Republicans keep playing the culture wars game, and "forget" to actually help their base of voters? TrumpNation will continue to slide into economic irrelevance.

The Dems don't have to win, my man. How much richer are you after four years of Trump, Pete? And how about those coastal elites? All my wife's friends took at least three vacations...many of them overseas....and picked up second homes.

How's flyover America, Pete? Enjoying that inflation that comes from all that reckless borrowing, and all that extra printed money?

The liberal elites that the author is crowing about are thriving, Pete. Things have never been better. So yep, as she pointed out in her piece, those elites are sending their kids to private school to avoid the unsolved issues in public schools.

......good luck, TrumpNation, is all I have to say. And after the R's and D's get done with the infrastructure bill? That won't bring a lick of help their way. Oh well. Keep voting Republican, right? That'll fix everything.

So flyover Americans should be content to watch Democratic-led assaults on American heritage and pride, and simply focus on economic issues?

CRT is just some imaginary ghost in the heads of millions of parents?

.. it certainly is in Northern Virginia. You can't point to one actual documented case. Of course you will try to slide a made up case by us.

CRT is not taught in K-12 anywhere in the US. Sorry if you don't approve of actual US History.

Yes, the Republican re-definition of CRT is an imaginary ghost. Like so much of the other fear porn and faux outrage stirred up for elections.

Actual CRT is a whole other subject worth discussing and talking about.

You should explain yourself to the millions of rube parents who apparently are too dumb to know that their schools are in fact NOT teaching that American cultural, political, legal, and economic systems, religions, and the nuclear family itself are all systemically racist.

Dumb parents.

What do they know, right?
... the problem is not the parents, the problem is lying pieces of sh*t misinforming the parents. If the shoe fits ...

How will govt funded universal pre-k work ? Will 2 yr old toddlers be riding school buses ? Driver + baby wranglers on each bus ? Lot's of wide open spaces in red counties. How are parents going to work 8 hr shifts ?
There are all sorts of state programs already in place you just aren’t paying attention.

https://earlychildhood.marylandpublicsc ... ssing-prek *

But of course that would require you to take a view outside your own experience. Like that something doesn’t divide or something unites based solely on your personal observation and experience.
I'm aware of existing preschool services.* They do not provide universal pre k.
If universal pre k is to be attained, it will take a lot more than what BBB is promising.
BBB only funds pre k for below median income families.
I does not help with the transportation & extended child care hours necessary for a working single parent to use the entitlement.
To be universal, states will have to fund a lot of this :
* If eligible, your local Department of Social Services will issue you a scholarship for additional child care choices.

You know what works really well in elections? Disparaging millions of moms and dads as ‘ignorant rubes’ who don’t know what they are looking at when their kids bring home classroom assignments at night which demand their children renounce their skin color if they are white. It worked so well on Tuesday, let’s see how it flies when you keep it up for a year!

Republicans are simply licking their chops.

Progressives first defended Critical Race Theory, then switched to calling attacks on it racist, before finally settling on a new move: insisting it never existed in the first place.

Let’s see how that plays in twelve months! Meanwhile, keep doing what you’re doing in schools. Randi Weingarten is a real champ.

No, they should ignore made up, fake issues that aren't actual things, and focus on things that really affect their kids.

I have a ton more respect for parents trying to raise their kids. Generally, I wouldn’t dismiss their concerns as no more than ‘misinformation’. They seem to be very close to the action than some of us here, and all I can see is they seem to have voted overwhelmingly for Youngkin who listened to their concerns.

But like I said, I’d urge any and every Democrat to stay the course and keep mocking them. Not respecting parents seems like a sure fire winner on election days!

Overwhelmingly? LMAO Guy won by the skin of his teeth based on flat out lies. Should have trounced McAuliffe the way the D's ran their campaign.

I trust my kids' teachers way more than my neighbors as far curriculum goes. And we still keep tabs on everything they're taught.

Their concerns about CRT are concerns only because you're flat out lying to them to make them scared. They have enough stress and BS to worry about without your buddies screwing things up even more with fake issues.

You certainly have no qualms about mocking and disrespecting the concerns of the other half of the parents in the country.

It's gotta get tiring being mad about so much and being a permanent victim.

Youngkin won white women (moms) 57-43

Education was the top issue of all voters. Youngkin won that demo 55-45.

I’m thinking the voters aren’t racist, but instead concerned parents.

“In an ideal world, Democrats would take a hard look in the mirror and ask themselves whether maybe they should have rethought their approach to Critical Race Theory. Or the constant belittling of parents who want their children to take off their masks and get back to class. Or the embrace of a radical agenda that imagines the whole of America in the grip of white supremacy.”

“Attempts to cast criticism of Critical Race Theory as a dog whistle (or worse) are not unique to McAuliffe’s supporters. It’s a move that’s increasingly being used by the left in our ever-hotter culture war. Progressives first defended Critical Race Theory, then switched to calling attacks on it racist, before finally settling on a new move: insisting it never existed in the first place.”

“It’s true that these parents often struggle to define Critical Race Theory. They’re not in a law-school seminar; they’re not fluent in academic jargon. But they’re not imagining things. They have noticed something very real: a new ideological orthodoxy pervading public schools, including an obsession with race, and the disparagement of anyone who questions the new dogma.”
The precepts of CRT have spread from law school dogma into the mainstream. The 1619 Project is the most publicized example but those same precepts have leeched into colleges & public schools.

I previously posted just a couple public education examples.*

The tactical switch to now denying the existence of CRT in public education indicates the progressive's recognition that they have failed to sell it to the public. They are flailing, trying to understand their stunning loss.

That's why they just use the 1619 Project lesson guides & other stealth CRT "resources" that are provided by their supervisors or in their required continuing education classes. See my previous post for examples.

Normal CRT Definition: There may be some conscious or subconscious racial bias built into some of our institutions and systems, and we should investigate that a little.

R's talking point definition of CRT: Teachers are telling white kids they're evil. REEEEEEEEE!

--- another lie promulgated by Goebbels and the right wing. Education was not the top issue of all voters. According to Votecast "Thirty-five percent of Virginia voters said the economy and jobs was the most important issue facing the state, while 17% named COVID-19 and 15% chose education."

I’m thinking the voters aren’t racist, but instead concerned parents. --- it is a mix. The Washington suburb moms were concerned parents. The big turnout in SW Virginia was a mix of concerned parents and plain old angry white men and their hatered.
