There's some Fair and Balanced (rational??) thinking for you.

Who has poisoned MILLIONS of citizens attitudes about this calamity with his flat out numbnuttery? "Don't let that cruise line boat dock because 'my numbers will look bad!'" "It will go away when the weather warms up" The economy is WAY more important (again, "my numbers") than measures we take to stem the spread."

Who has RELENTLESSLY encouraged, cajoled and insisted that the country take steps to protect itself and its economy against the spread of this scourge.

ANY rational human being can see the night-and-day difference between the leadership shown by one man and the totally erroneous "leadership" of another. Tell us one blessed thing Trump did correctly here. Don't give is "Warp Speed" either...that whole program was forced on that moron by members of the government that were desperate to get a response, ANY competent, effective response going instead of the constant lying, obfuscation and blame-shifting this bum grifter was foisting on us all for four years.

Those that don't see the truth of this situation are simply tilting at windmills.

IS it a calamity or isn't it, Joe? Could trump have handled it in ANY different way than he did? What part of his response did you like? What more can Joe be doing at this time? You DO know that hundreds of thousands of Americans are resisting Joe's efforts at mitigating this situation because of one man, right? Can you acknowledge this or not?

..
So Trump is to blame FOREVER? He hasn't been in POWER for over 9 months. I'm not denying they are lunatics out there as a result of their devotion to Trump, but are you seriously claiming that this administration get's some sort of hall pas because of the prior president? If that's the case in your twisted mind, this current administration will be long gone before they get a chance to make their mark. Little less political hatred would serve you very will Dis.

Bye Nick. Maybe Marin Catholic needs a volunteer.

Rolovich and all other unvaccinated Washington State assistants have been terminated for cause. Defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Jake Dickert is reportedly expected take over as interim head coach, per ESPN's Kyle Bonagura.
Shouldn't be a surprise, he was prepared to lose his job over this. Whether its right or wrong, this isn't a shock to Nick.

Joe
I wonder what his claim for a “religious exemption” was?
Who knows, who cares? As far as you guys on this thread are concerned, he lost his job right? The story is over after that. Why does it matter what his reasoning was? He's not getting the shot and it cost him his job. He knew this would be the outcome and was rightfully prepared for it to happen. How many coaches are there in CFB? This happened to one coach. Probably won't coach again at the college level again if not for a very long time. Why does it matter what his reasoning was? No matter what it is, it will be lambasted on this thread. This is a non-story moving forward. He lost his job, time to move on. What's going on with Kyrie?

Joe
It would matter positively (for him) if his religious claim actually had some reasonable basis yet was unfairly rejected.

However, if it was obviously BS, a lie, then the rejection and firing is even more justified.
And it would probably matter to a future hiring situation.
Understood, but how you do you even know he want's to coach again? Maybe he devotes the rest of his life to a religious cause. You have no clue what Nick Rolovich does next. This is not as newsworthy as you think. Get back to me when Kyrie Irving get's banned from the NBA for refusing vaccination. Now that would be a story.

Joe
On the coach, you're absolutely right, he could go be a welder for all I know, and care...you're the one who seems bothered by this story and getting exercised about it.

On Kyrie, the NBA doesn't have a rule, yet, requiring all players to be vaccinated, but playing in various cities' venues does require such. And he's being held to that standard.

The joke is ON YOU, Joe.

At least, the WSU coaches took their punishments and, unlike the NHL jerk did not submit a fake vaccine card (but who only got a 21 game vacation without pay)

Kyrie is a fruit loop….not unlike the “ball” coach. Who knows what Kyrie is thinking day to day. I am just wondering what his religious exemption is given he had been a known Catholic….a buddy is a fellow Marin Catholic alum. Pope is all in on vaccines….just wondering what the ol’ ball coach’s religious exemption request was based on….. could have just said “I am not getting vaccinated” instead of making up some BS excuse….but he be awright. Not worried about him. Don’t even remember his name today.

Yes, Trump is to blame (responsible) forever, for what he did and did not do, as POTUS...and thereafter.

Others, including Biden , will be responsible for what they did and did not do.

Both can be true.

Actually, most of the discussion has been about the virus, who is spreading it, how, and why, and about who is trying to reduce it's spread, how and why, who is fighting against those efforts, how and why.

It's on point.

Trump and Trumpism, lying, misinformation, phony conspiracies, etc are all inevitably part of the mix. Because they are 'on thread topic'.

Note, there's been some quite nuanced discussion as well.

Joe
Yes, Trump is to blame (responsible) forever, for what he did and did not do, as POTUS...and thereafter.

Others, including Biden , will be responsible for what they did and did not do in response to what came before them.

Both can be true.
Millions of people have accepted vaccinations for things like school and work for decades.

Today, millions of people object to a vaccine for one specific, very contagious, deadly virus because...WHY?

The broad objections to the vaccines are causing the pandemic to become extended and making life challenging to millions.

Some of those "millions" objecting to the vaccine have legitimate reasons. MANY do not.

Can you answer the "why?" Joe? ...despite how you never like to discuss icky, complex issues of causation and solutions...

(ps: perhaps remember to factor in how the person i'm holding responsible wants (fully intends) to return to the position of leadership he held for four years...)

Daily outrage? What the heck are you talking about. you FLP brethren don't realize how much of a joke this thread has become. Just a big circle jerk of how much you hate Trump. Isn't there another thread for that? Clueless, utterly clueless. This little thread is SO FAR from reality that you FLP brethren wouldn't even know reality if it shot you in the damn face.

Joe
"FLP", "joke", "circle jerk", "clueless, etc, etc.

Come on, Joe, you're just getting pushback.
Just make your arguments.
MD,

It's not pushback, it's pure insanity. Look at the last 3 pages of this thread. It should be renamed- Hatred for DJT.

There's a thread for that.

You know better.

Joe
Actually, most of the discussion has been about the virus, who is spreading it, how, and why, and about who is trying to reduce it's spread, how and why, who is fighting against those efforts, how and why.

It's on point.

Trump and Trumpism, lying, misinformation, phony conspiracies, etc are all inevitably part of the mix. Because they are 'on thread topic'.

Note, there's been some quite nuanced discussion as well.
There has been nuanced discussion. "HAS BEEN" been a long time since I've seen that.

Joe
There was very recently a long discussion, with numerous participants, and lots of articles cited, about the various cohorts of people who are unvaccinated and why, including push back that it's simply, for instance, "MAGA mouth breathers" to blame.

Again, IMO you need to read with a more open aperture or less emotionally triggered, else I'm back to suggesting you just avoid the thread if you think it's worthless to read.

Doe you lose sleep at night because somebody that you have political hatred for "want's to return to office in 2024" Serious question? Millions of people object because they are being told it's their ticket back to normalcy. Yet certain places are STILL imposing restrictions on those who are vaccinated. So those people that you mention feel as if, "what's the point"?

The red was added by dis, but I do agree.

Joe, dis' hypothesis has a specific primary causation source, and this hypothesis, though perhaps mostly true, may not explain all of the resistance. But dis, and others, make the argument that absent that specific malign influence, resistance by non "MAGA" cohorts would not be nearly as high...that's a valid, though not immediately testable assertion.

It's actually the sort of 'nuanced' discussion we've been having. Basketball discussions aside.

To me, the most interesting discussion is about how best to deal with the realities that exist today, how best to achieve a better health and economic outcome much faster.

The true cause of restrictions still being imposed anywhere is the lack of herd immunity. That is CAUSED principally by the lack of vaccinated individuals.

That is the point. Getting enough vaccinated makes the pandemic at least turn into an endemic disease.

You have RW media types like Tucker Carlson (who is vaccinated) pushing the "freedom of choice" of NOT getting vaccinated as a means of damaging the pandemic response to allow the RW to blame Biden and the current administration as far as I can tell...

That makes the effort difficult at best.
