Georgetown 2022
Re: Georgetown 2022
Yes Loyola on the schedule as well!
Re: Georgetown 2022
No. 44 junior Shuey Kelly '23, A, Calvert Hall (Md.) has committed to @HoyasMLacrosse. Older brothers are at Maryland and Carolina
Re: Georgetown 2022
Another top 2023 commitment, 5 star goalie:
@ILPreps No. 10 junior Anderson Moore, G, Briarwood Christian (Ala.) has committed to @HoyasMLacrosse. Unflappable, fundamentally sound and a stud out of the cage, the quick-handed Alabama native gives Georgetown the top '23 keeper:

I know some of them are cousins, not all immediate siblings.AreaLax wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 10:14 amBelieve there is at least oneJoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 10:08 amAre there any more Kelly's left after this? I think they have the Stanwick's beat at this point...

A 5 star 2023 commitment per Ty Xanders@ILPreps:
No. 9 junior Nate Kabiri, A, Georgetown Prep (Md.)/@MADLAX1 has committed to @HoyasMLacrosse. An Episcopal (Va.) transfer who becomes Georgetown’s second Top 10 ‘23, Kabiri’s a dynamic playmaker who can produce from X, up top or the high wing.

4 dads, and a whole slew of cousins. Even some adoptions...JoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 10:08 amAre there any more Kelly's left after this? I think they have the Stanwick's beat at this point...

My son enjoyed playing club ball several years with 3 of them on the same team, two went to UNC and won a NC, the third to Ohio State.
Others have gone to UNC, Rutgers, Maryland, now Georgetown...I haven't followed closely enough to know whether there were any girl cousins who played or are coming up...
Pound for pound I'd take the Stanwicks, but sheer volume definitely goes to the Kelly clan.
Re: Georgetown 2022
Another, JK, is headed to Cornell. Class of '22.

Thanks, I do remember Patrick Kelly scoring the game-winner against Manhasset in 2012, Manhasset almost pulled of the upset against CHC. 6-5 Final. He's gotta be about 27 now.

Yup, along with cousin Johnny and cousin Steven (Bones) who were a year younger, they were quite good. Patrick was a deadly lefty sniper, great step to get his hands free. Bones was tremendous at X.JoeMauer89 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 6:50 pmMD,MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 10:05 am4 dads, and a whole slew of cousins. The only problem with playing with Bones on the club team was that his possession rate was so high, there was less action for the D (and tender) when he got hot!
Pat and my son were in the same graduation year, though from rival schools.
That was a darn good Manhasset team! My son and I were there at that game, played at St. Pauls, to meet his future teammate Bobby Duvnjak who was an absolute force of nature that day, taking face-offs and roaming all over the field creating mass destruction. Amazing performance. I think Garden City was also there that day, maybe playing the host? Devin Dwyer off that team was also a future teammate.
Glad to see Georgetown in on the Kelly action!

Now I love those cowboys, I love their gold
Love my uncle, God rest his soul
Taught me good, Lord, taught me all I know
Taught me so well, that I grabbed that gold
I left his dead ass there by the side of the road, yeah

Excellent Manhasset team that year, I believe they were upset in the Nassau County Playoffs by a very athletic Wantagh team that year. GC went on to win the State Championship that year.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 27, 2021 7:44 pmYup, along with cousin Johnny and cousin Steven (Bones) who were a year younger, they were quite good. Re: Georgetown 2022
Hoyas add two more very strong ‘23s to what is becoming an incredibly strong recruiting class. Carello d man from
Huntington is very strong on ball and great in transition. Also #46 jack Schubert attack. Have not seen him play but hear he is extremely strong with both hands and a great playmaker.

Re: Georgetown 2022
Agree that the Hoyas are building a strong 2023 class. Perhaps the success over the past 3-4 years is paying off, along with the facilities upgrades. While it will be a heavy lift to get to the top group of teams, things are trending very well.
