I will say I’ve had people completely wrong, true hipster virtue signalers, pull stuff on me in open air where I was in a place first, like trying to lock my and my sons bike to go inside somewhere. Dude rolls up to unlock his bike before I’m done and starts in lucky he caught me on a good day because this was like 4-5mo back and my son was around, but no care for science just wanted to tell me off but we had just rode like 5-6mi (an 8yr old), my son had to go to the bathroom. We had masks in pocket to put on before going inside but hasn’t even had a chance and this douche could’ve waited until we were done if really concerned while outdoors and a space I was in first. Really lucky because he started cursing me out without asking questions making all sorts of assumptions while we’re sweaty and my son really had to go so spot stop where we could. That sort of behavior is a despicable as the other side and equally deserves to get Crane kicked in the face. Point being there’s flat out wrong aggressors on the other side who aren’t helping the cause either in their pursuit of being the ultimate “#ag hag”, unintellectual wanna be followers. I find this in the millenial and denial cohorts in particular around where I live.

we already know everyone has their price, and for 4+% of the delta workforce, it's $200/month.
“Beginning Nov. 1, unvaccinated employees enrolled in Delta’s account-based healthcare plan will be subject to a $200 monthly surcharge,” reads one of the bulletpoints in Bastian’s memo. “The average hospital stay for COVID-19 has cost Delta $50,000 per person. This surcharge will be necessary to address the financial risk the decision to not vaccinate is creating for our company.”
In the memo, Bastian added that every Delta employee who had been hospitalized with COVID-19, up to that point, had been unvaccinated.
Everyone gets a vaxx.......except those held at the border.......that would be racist. See the all over the place with your hands you are on the issue.
Either all, or none. You sure are a Republican, sticking it to the lil man, any chance you can.
The most disgusting thing.....and trees for the forest embarrassment for Delta......is that they pay their employees so poorly, a $2.4 k hit ....and hits hard. What would the tax write off be for this "surcharge", for the employees....any ? Delta airline self insures for medical insurance, or , they use someone else
so savage
Who we be talkin bout Russell?
Seriously, they clearly made their own decision as to whether to get vaccinated or not.
Just had a heck of an incentive to do so.
Hospitalizations aren't free...someone has to pay, whether that's us taxpayers, or as insurance payors, or a company bearing the risk on behalf of their employees. Delta simply decided to share that economic risk/cost back on employees who otherwise refused to be vaccinated.
And all they needed to do was get vaccinated, or find another job...in an economy where employers are begging for workers...their choice.
Not really a surprise that they decided to get the shot.

Delta is probably the best run airline even if all the airlines are at risk here (so job transferability may be a little harder). However in general the airline unions have behaved pretty poorly sticking up the companies at times of weakness in the past so this is just some comeuppance if not completely rational to people who do make everyone their enemy.MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 12:15 amThe 'lil' man???runrussellrun wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 6:31 pmBesides being unvaccinated, what other health concerns, issues, did these Delta employees have, who got hospitalized ?MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 6:16 pmNow we're talking...wgdsr wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 6:10 pm https://wgntv.com/news/huge-number-of-u ... cial-says/

Wife came home complaining and I paid attention to her, which is rare these days, because they are paying people to get the shot and she apparently wrote an email to the president and CFO that it was the wrong type of incentive and was annoyed she didn’t get immediate feedback. It does raise the interesting carrot/stick dilemma for businesses as I know some are paying folks and some are passing the incremental costs along. She’s kind of right if I’m sure wrote a poorly drafted message given her communication skills and lack of bedside manner that would make me look like Ghandi (I have the excuse of depression and perhaps my psychologist “you have no filters” which is why I can’t have xanax for my anxiety). But what would folks do in those seats? Pay to incent or charge for creating negative externalities to the enterprise? Personally I’d pay, don’t believe the loyalty portion of employer/employee contract has existed since the 80s (or earlier, at least by the time the gross transferred defined benefit plans to defined contribution). If I known money incentivizes then I know something. The stick doesn’t tell me as much as a signal.
(keep in mind her dad knows the President for 35yrs and is a 7% owner of the business, CFO is new former controller idiot and not part of the inner circle of this +/- $500mm rev biz-I tried to walk the former CFO of McKinsey who is a buddy here in Atlanta but left because they wanted him in Boston or NYC and his wife has a nice established optometry practice down here but they moved like they had similar talent a fubarred that opportunity badly)

An update for OS on boosters
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/14/us/p ... shots.html
"Also last month, the Biden administration announced that it hoped to start offering boosters on Sept. 20 to people who had received a second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine at least eight months before. But the leaders of the F.D.A. and the C.D.C. then said they needed more time to evaluate safety and other data. Janet Woodcock, the acting F.D.A. commissioner, has urged people not to seek booster shots on their own, but to wait for a regulatory ruling that they are safe and necessary."
This may explain why your experience in Maryland was what it was. Pharmacies here are not doing your "wink and nod"and willingly giving boosters. You get some questions first then advisement that boosters are not approved for everyone, although if you insist they will likely give you a booster especially if you are over 65.
"The Maryland Department of Health decided to take action ahead of the F.D.A.: It issued an order last week permitting immediate boosters for all residents 65 and older who live in group settings like nursing homes. Michael Ricci, a spokesman for Gov. Larry Hogan, pointed to the C.D.C.’s recommendation last month that “moderately to severely immunocompromised” people should have extra shots."
"Public health experts generally take a dim view of booster self-selection. Like vaccine refusal, they say, it does not take into consideration the broader fight against the pandemic, which they believe should be focused on vaccinating the 25 percent of Americans who are eligible but unvaccinated, or on vaccinating people in poor nations."
