Wonder how they'll fare in the NEC with Robert Morris, Bryant, Sacred Heart, and others. I think they could compete now for a conference crown if they were able to. Sad to see them leave the NE10, but Coach Morgan should be fine.

Merrimack leaving D2 for D1
Just saw this over in the D1 area:
Re: Merrimack leaving D2 for D1
To be clear, they will play one more season in the NE10, then go to a D1 schedule in 2019-2020 school year.

Is this just for lacrosse? men's only? other sports?

They are reclassifying, so it's the entire athletic department. The 2018-19 year is their last in D2.Laxwarrior wrote:Is this just for lacrosse? men's only? other sports?

According to the college's vision of the future this has been planned for some time. So I guess winning a national championship in lax helps grease the skids with the required D1 conference invitation...Matnum PI wrote:wow. that's big news...
