Perhaps he will be as hyped of an incoming player as Towson has ever had.
Had quite a game in the final, scoring 3 goals, I assist...contributing to 4 of Spalding's 8 scores.

Alright, everyone! We have a long way to go. But I am predicting a Spalding-McDonogh title game in 2022. Both teams will be very talented, and, for reasons that don't need to be explained, they will have the "unfinished business" mentality as much, if not more, than anyone else.

That is the final many people were predicting when the playoffs started. Good chance it could happen this year.

Hobart has a D kid commit as a 22 named Jackson Galiani so while they were mediocre in 21 I’ll be rooting for them. 22s seem to have some talent w kids committed to Bart, Dartmouth (2), Mich, OSU and Navy.

I know MIAA this is common but looks like they should compete in 22 at least. Last Landon kid we hs was Matt Opsahl and I believe only one MIAA kid on current roster in Troy Barthelme.

Any predictions on where McCabe Millon ends up? Anyone NOT thinking it will be one of these four?

Does anyone, like I do, think that St. Mary's-Spalding is on the verge of being about as intense of a rivalry as there is in the "A" Conference?

You could say that. I think it's already boiling over, off the field.

Oh, absolutely! Trash Talk City, USA, is one factor.

No way.

Severn has been SM's rival for 70+ years, across all sports, boys and girls. SM and Severn are comparable to each other in size and character. Spalding is much bigger than both and a very different type of school. You would be hard-pressed to find any SM alumni or current students who consider someone other than Severn to be the Saints rival. A single good season at Spalding does not change anything.

While Spalding was very good in 2021 and soundly beat SM for the first time in many years, the Cavs are something like 4-30 lifetime against the Saints. Not much of a rivalry.

I am thinking Spalding lacrosse falls back its usual form after the 2022 class graduates.

Spalding and St Mary's are both co-ed catholic schools.
What's the Severn/St Mary's series tally?
Gonna go out on a limb and guess that game hasn't been too competitive lately either.

Anyone have a good sense of the destination commitments by this year's seniors and juniors (so far) ?

I'm not going to do the homework, but if someone is enterprising enough to do a good first cut, it could be a fun thing to have updating as things move around and are added.

Also, just read this thread from its beginning some months ago.

There was initially a discussion of a larger tournament, which then turned more pointedly, and quite interestingly, to the lack of enforcement by the MIAA org.

But back to tourney, my pushback would simply be that too large a tournament slate reduces dramatically the importance of the regular season. They're not simply practice games.

I do think having a tournament is worthwhile, and dramatic, though when I played in the old MSA, the winner was simply the team that had the best record in a home and away schedule. 6 teams, 10 games, every single one important to the teams competing to be #1.

Interested in what the argument would be for a tournament in which everyone, or nearly so, automatically gets in, seeding the only difference?
