Another issue worth mentioning here is that my post was enjoyed by at least two people who read it. So if I was governed by your opinion and your standards, (because this is certainly not the first time you have told me that I was violating your standards) one member would have missed out on a good laugh, which we can all agree is always enjoyable; and the other member would have missed an affirmation. You've confessed to putting stuff like this out there just to agitate and stir the pot, so why the childish tantrum when you get the reaction you were looking for for?OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 8:59 amAnother issue worth mentioning here is that my post was enjoyed by at least two people who read it. Re: University of Maryland Terrapins
I scanned their Instagram account and the last time they mention winning multiple national championships is October 2019 and it was because Cathy Reese was announced as being inducted into the National Lacrosse HOF. Other posts about previous achievements are mostly in conjunction with current events - Colson voted DOY so they celebrate her and mention 8 out of the last 11 have been terps. In spring 2020 there was a lot of reminiscing but that was on every programs Instagram account because of the canceled season. Other than that they’ve referenced specific championship years maybe 4-5 times over the last 14 months?OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 4:10 amI've watched plenty of the takeovers and virtual campus tours you mention. But what Maryland does on their social media platforms regarding their past achievements is a different thing entirely.wlaxphan20 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 02, 2021 6:18 pm A lot of programs are blowing their horns. Sept 1 was yesterday, and recruiting the high school class of 2023 has started. Lots of aerial shots of campus/athletic facilities, players doing an Instagram takeover to show an average “day in the life” of a student athlete at that school, and displaying program achievements
Perhaps no one else does it because they can’t. Who’s got accolades that come close to Maryland’s? Individual and program? It never really bothered me because it’s THEIR social media account and it’s purpose is to promote their program. But if it irks you so maybe don’t follow them.

Yes, I don't speak for anyone but me. That's exactly what "for me anyway" meant and was intended to mean. I copied a Twitter post, not Instagram. There’s been a significant exodus from Twitter to Instagram by the younger set in recent years. That’s also true for the majority of pro athletes. Twitter just ain’t hep for all the young cool cats anymore ... all to say, Maryland doesn’t have prospective recruits as their target audience via the Twitter platform.Bart wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 7:09 amIDK, 16 - 17 yo recruits looking for a college may be interested in listening to a team bragging about its past accomplishments? You have no idea as to whom UMd was targeting with these posts. It is also nonsense that they do not have recruits in mind when they post things like this. It is always a sales game with the next generation of players no mater what school we are talking about or what platform we are looking at.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Fri Sep 03, 2021 12:56 pmI copied a Twitter post, not Instagram. I don’t see how it helps UMD recruiting to not act like it’s lacrosse legacy is light years better than the competition.
Why would UMD not emphasize it?

A lot of the graphics used on Twitter are also used on Instagram. The same graphic posted was posted to their Instagram story.
Re: University of Maryland Terrapins
Is there really an argument over whether MD should be posting this information the week of 9/1 when recruiting begins for the class of 2023?

Maryland doesn’t confine their chest-thumping comportment via social media only to recruiting season. It’s an all year long thing. Regular season, postseason, off-season, fall ball season, etc. You pick the season, the Twerps will be crowin’. And yes, I always find bragging about one’s accomplishments to be distasteful. If that makes me a “hater“, then so be it – now and forever more.

A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person.
Perhaps they post more about championships and Tewy awards, etc because they have so many more than anyone else.
