Didn’t want the knives to come out. Kyle Dixon?
Knives reserved for references to Miles Jones and Will Yeatman.
Will Yeatman did all right for himself.
He was a football player who also played lacrosse.
3 years of DI football and top 10 DI lacrosse.
There were almost no recruits going to DI for lacrosse
back then out of Cali, Roy Lang I do recall, but few others.
So it was a big deal in Cali that Yeatman got recruited
at ND.
I think I read where he got the five year NFL pension
since he was injured often.
Yeatman is still one the top scorers out of Cali
in DI scoring.

Yep … undrafted free agent, practice squad, then quickly picked up off of waivers.

There were a couple of exceptional football/lacrosse kids I knew from my area and football out of Horseheads by the names of Nate Watkins and Giulian Gary who both went to UMD. Watkins had a nice lacrosse career, could’ve played football as well. Gary tried both for a second but was NFL caliber WR so had to focus full time by soph year.

Underrated athletes for folks not familiar.

Yeatman wasn’t serious when he went to ND got a DUI in a golf cart on campus. I’ve known a ton of D1 players, Jesse Palmer was regarded well behind this guy I know who ended up transferring to Vandy because he only went to Uf for the girls and once he fell behind both doug johnson and Jesse Palmer he said forget Gainesville. Tim Olmstead - https://www.alinea-group.com/company/team/

Point being that it’s not just athleticism or talent it’s repetitions and focus

Looks like he’s in trouble though if he can’t play ST. Similar to many D3 kids who go to camps. But having watched too many Bryant games the past 6-7yrs I recall Pressler was running kids through there especially first half of the decade who were athletes first, the old Dave Urick style of kid.

Those teams had 5-6 horses who’d just run and run even if through a defender.

made the 1st 53 man. detroit says they'll be on the waiver wire, but they just traded for a denver receiver and he made it with him included.

Thanks! Hard nosed kid. A “Patriot” type slot receiver.

Didn't expect this topic to turn into this.

I think whatever path Jared Bernhardt has chosen- be it play for fun or to play for shot at NFL, he had plenty of helpful advice based on his fathers career. I think he's got a skillset that it's at least worth pursuing. Lots of good athletes to play lacrosse over the years. I've never seen speed/quicks like Mike Powell. he had college DB athleticism (if not better) ....does it mean he could play in NFL...no. Does it mean he couldnt...no.

Good luck to Jared Bernhardt

max seibald did a combine test out of college for IL

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=blwtcOo5lEg

Believe he was asked to try out for the Broncos when playing for the outlaws but passed.

One of the only athletes in Nassau county history (maybe only) to be all county soccer and football in the same season

5 of 5 passing. One TD pass. Three rushing TDs.

Not bad.

Still the first half.

Bernhardt just added another rushing TD (4th). Has 120 yards rushing. Also 6 of 6 passing with a TD. Still first half.

Just FYI … the Division II record for most individual TDs in a game (passing and/or rushing) is 10, set by Bruce Swanson on October 12, 1968.

http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/football_ ... 017/D2.pdf

Bernhardt is on pace to match (or break) that 53 year old record in his first collegiate football game.

Not bad.
