A stud is a male horse put to use to, umm, secure new generations, usually for a substantial, umm, fee . Can we not find a better, less hackneyed, and more appropriate moniker?OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 2:02 pmLooks like Rutgers picked up a stud! Umm, yeah, I know. And applied to women it seems grossly (both meanings on this modifier) misplaced given the many, many, many other ways and words to describe what you are intending to convey. E.g., HSP, as LF500 suggests.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 3:29 pmI can’t tell whether you’re being facetious or not, so I will humor you:seacoaster wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 2:15 pmA stud is a male horse put to use to, umm, secure new generations, usually for a substantial, umm, fee . Sure, we're done. It is a stupid moniker imposed on people without imagination. Re: Transfer Portal
Am in complete agreement with sc here, stud is simply the wrong word to be using when describing a female (and I don't care who is using it.....get yourselves a more appropriate word, ladies). For years you heard "man up" in wlax but now you're beginning to hear more and more person up, player up, girl up because...well, because man up is just wrong like stud is.

Re: Transfer Portal
It's obviously a current and perfectly acceptable word used by highly respected women in the field. All these examples are recent. The reason only the month and date are listed after the users name is because these tweets were posted this year, and in the case of Frankie Kamely, this month. The defense rests.

There's no defense. It's an opinion and a matter of taste, all of which appears to be in your mouth.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 4:59 pm It's obviously a current and perfectly acceptable word used by highly respected women in the field.
