All I know is that this virus has killed over 4 million people….staying away from people and vaccinations is how you usually respond to a deadly virus. So long as a person can live with staying away from other human beings, they don’t need to be vaccinated.wgdsr wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:22 pmpeople sit in judgment. our transparency has been putrid. and we wonder why.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:13 pm https://www.cnn.com/2021/08/01/us/coron ... index.html

I guess we can just tell people to go on about their business and ignore it….may end up with a lot more dead people, maybe not. I guess we can take a hands off approach for one year, hands on a second year and then make a decision two/three years from now.

your post was about about people being ignorant. our government has either not been forthcoming or they've been lazy.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:44 pmAll I know is that this virus has killed over 4 million people….staying away from people and vaccinations is how you usually respond to a deadly virus. your solution is to trust them anyway. i'm saying that doesn't work. you're saying... i don't know what you're saying.
my guess is it still will continue not to work. spitballing.

Was the P-town study controlled for people on hiv antiretrovirals or PReP Rx ?MDlaxfan76 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 8:06 pmJust a guess, but I'd bet that Provincetown has an extremely high vaccination rate, relative to other parts of Massachusetts, which itself has a high rate relative to much of the country. Meaning that 25% being among unvaccinated is very disproportionate to the actual percentage of potential unvaccinated to infect.OuttaNowhereWregget wrote: ↑Fri Jul 30, 2021 7:11 pm The news gets more puzzling...
Per article in Washington Post:
"Vaccinated people made up three-quarters of those infected in a massive Massachusetts covid-19 outbreak, pivotal CDC study finds
The cluster of cases in Provincetown, Mass., which were linked to the delta variant, came amid densely packed July Fourth celebrations. The findings, which also showed vaccinated people had greater protection against severe disease even though they could spread the virus, significantly influenced a move by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention this week to reinstitute recommendations that people — vaccinated or not — wear masks in indoor public settings in some circumstances."

I am making decisions based on what I have studied, how mankind has responded to prior infectious diseases and how the rest of the world is reacting. I suppose the USA Government runs the planet. I am not relying on “the government telling me what to do”. When I see nurses and doctors not washing their hands and wearing a mask, I will them believe they are a waste of time. I am a rather safe than sorry type guy. A mask doesn’t bother me at all. It’s like wearing a hat or sunglasses.wgdsr wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:57 pmyour post was about about people being ignorant. our government has either not been forthcoming or they've been lazy.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Sun Aug 01, 2021 10:44 pmAll I know is that this virus has killed over 4 million people….staying away from people and vaccinations is how you usually respond to a deadly virus. I have had many conversations with really ignorant people. They would be better of just saying “I just don’t want to get vaccinated or wear a mask and I don’t have a good reason.” Better that than some reason that defies logic….like “a mask may lock the virus inside me”….yeah you may be able to look past that, I can’t. Or “the virus is a hoax because my can of Lysol says it kill coronavirus and I had that can before they started talking about Covid.” Or “we are shutting down the economy so someone can make money off it”….. SMH…..those ignorant people.

Many young, healthy people do a personal risk assessment on whether or not to take the vaccine.
Given that it is still an Emergency Use Authorization indicates that it is not yet possible to know the long term effects.
We've encountered many young female vet techs & health care workers who fear potential fertility & birth defect risks, yet unknown.
So far, they prefer to take the risk of surviving the infection. If Delta produces significantly more hospitalizations & serious illness among the young without high risk factors, more will accept the vaccination.
When the govt cites broad categories of stats, without distinguishing or controlling for risk factors within the group cited, it undermines confidence in the motives of the govt.

2% of the 199,000,000 cases opened up have ended in death. Enough people don’t get vaccinated, we may get to Zeta. When these people are sitting at home and perhaps out of work, it’s not “the government’s fault”….it’s ain’t called a novel virus for nothing. Wishful thinking and prayers may eventually help…. All lies.
They need to be convinced. What's been done has not worked on them.
They are accurate when the say none of us know the long term effects of these vaccines still under an EUSA.
Estimates are that the rest of the globe won't have vaccine avail to all willing to take it until sometme in 2023.
We'll have zeta here by then, unless we close our borders.

Guys — zeta is only two letters after delta. SMH.
Last letter of the alphabet is omega. Not zeta.

yup...my wife is a school teacher and has heard this on multiple occasions. If the vaccine is not being advised for children, then how does one rationalize it would be safe for a child in utero.
A fraudulent intent, however carefully concealed at the outset, will generally, in the end, betray itself.

A pregnant woman should be able to social distance for 7-9 months and forgo the vaccine. Strict social distancing is an effective mitigant. I believe there is a 3-5% chance for natural birth defects. Any vaccines on record for causing a birth defect? It would be at least a data point.youthathletics wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 7:48 amyup...my wife is a school teacher and has heard this on multiple occasions. It is not just about birth defects. We have a friend with a young child that received a vaccine (cant recall which one, I will update when wife reminds me), normal healthy child, within 48 hours the vaccine was doing damage, lost control of motor skills, wheel chair bound entire life. It happens and is real life, it effects everyone around them and is not always going to be a stat one can measure.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 7:56 amA pregnant woman should be able to social distance for 7-9 months and forgo the vaccine. Leaving a skating rink in 6th grade. Anyway, someone with a bad personal experience can be understandably concerned.
