Meg Decker has been announced as Xavier’s first head coach. Previously she was Hartford’s head coach for 4 years.

Makes sense since Hartford is leaving Division 1, I hope it works out better than Hartford

Yep, that’s what I was thinking. I also wonder how many girls will transfer out of Hartford… it has the potential to be a really great D3 program

I saw Hartford play several years ago and at that time didn't think they would be competitive in D2, D3, or, to be completely blunt, the MIAA. I hope they've improved in the years since. They went 2-44 over 4 seasons with both wins coming over Delaware State. Their next 3 closest games were a 3-goal loss to Central Connecticut in 2019 and 4-goal & 5-goal losses to New Hampshire in 2021.

I'm not sure how many players are in the portal, but on the Men's forum there's a poster who must have access to the portal because they have all transfers listed by school & for Hartford there are over 16 men's players in the transfer portal. I get the feeling that the players chose Hartford because they wanted to play D1 and may transfer to stay in D1, but with the transfer portal already so saturated some may choose to stay

This woman has 12...TWELVE...years of coaching experience and she is now the HC at Columbia. Congrats to her. Some people have 3-4 years experience and get HC positions at top 5 programs. Experience counts...right??

The proximity of the schools also means that Murray likely won't have to relocate if she doesn't wish to, which is a huge plus IMO
