Is he even a full time coach? Isn’t he an elementary school teacher who helps out?KingPrat wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 2:36 pmI’d be much more believing of this if you’d said DC WP. His attendance at said tournament has no bearing on where he will be coaching next year.

Not sure it matters when it comes to saying a school is interested in a coach. I’d just be more willing to believe Amherst would be more interested in a 20+ year tenured coach vs. a 4 year.InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 2:47 pmIs he even a full time coach? Yeah - his bio lists him as a 24 year veteran of a local school district. Not to knock that at all -- guys like that are the backbone of a lot of lacrosse programs, but not typically looking to give up a career and jump to full time.
It's either a thoughtful comment or smartass sarcasm. Learn to recognize the difference.

That’s more what I’m alluding too. Why give up 20+ Yrs in a school district for a program that is such a mess. I can’t see that making sense for either party.WhiteCarrera wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 2:59 pm Yeah - his bio lists him as a 24 year veteran of a local school district. Again, the quote was who Amherst was interested in, not vice versa.InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 3:04 pmThat’s more what I’m alluding too. Parker has no reason to leave. But if I were the Amherst AD, that’s who I’d want.

I believe the original poster meant Will Pilat, not Will Parker. Pilat is son of long time Roanoke coach Bill Pilat.WhiteCarrera wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 2:59 pm Yeah - his bio lists him as a 24 year veteran of a local school district. Re: 2021 Coaching Carousel
Yes. Will Pilat. Very much in demand. Very solid candidate. Same age as JT was when he first became a NESCAC HC, 27. But, I could argue that Pilat has just as many tools and skills as JT had and my actually be better prepared. He's been discussing coaching and the game, basically since he earned to talk. And he had a great playing career, at an academically strong D3 school. And he's been with the dean of the NESCAC, John Raba, for 5 seasons. At a truly elite school.CrazyPeople wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 5:54 pmI believe the original poster meant Will Pilat, not Will Parker. Yes, Will Pilat. When the dust settles, he will be a strong candidate for Amherst, IMO.
Will Parker is a nice part of Wes' program and works well under Raba's wing. Good man. NOT the guy to take on the Amherst job, or to be a HC. I think he's in a very good position. Great career NESCAC assistant.

Curious to see how this plays out at the D3 level, his last D3 job at JCU was an adventureHomerCoach wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 1:15 pm https://cazenoviawildcats.com/news/2021 ... coach.aspx
Chris Cooper at Caz, good hire and finally a FT position at the school.

Re: 2021 Coaching Carousel
Will Pilat is a promising young coach. He’s no JT. Nor is he as experienced as JT was at 27. By that time JT had been mentored by three probable hall of fame coaches: Keith Bugbee, Peter Lasagna, and Lars Tiffany. Plus he was a successful D1 coordinator, who developed multiple MLL players.Muleski wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 6:08 pmYes. Will Pilat. Very much in demand. Very solid candidate. His 5 years is really like 3.5. He’s coached in 9 games the last 2 years and less than 1 yrs worth of practices. His dad being a great coach is in no way a qualification.
Re: 2021 Coaching Carousel
Honestly Pilat's experience coaching at Wesleyan under Raba and winning a National Championship carry more weight then what Rashad had coming into the job. Beloit is a joke of a D3 team.

Crazy - It started with WP, then DC WP, then back to original WP. You've got to keep up. Things move fast around here.CrazyPeople wrote: ↑Wed Jul 07, 2021 5:54 pmI believe the original poster meant Will Pilat, not Will Parker. Valid question. I'd love to hear what Dehuntshigwa’es and other W&L faithful could add about Koch.
