Cats quietly had a nice summer in the portal, looks like four impact guys.
Re: Transfer Portal 2022
Losing Khan, Prybylski, and all those other guys is still a net loss for them despite this haul. The portal giveth and it taketh away.xxxxxxx wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 5:13 pmhttps://www.insidelacrosse.com/article/ ... skin/58109

The portal has benefitted many teams, not just Rutgers. Duke, Maryland, UNC, etc have all brought in tons of transfers and recruits. I think the portal will slow down now that the Covid cancelled season is more and more in the past.backerzone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 6:03 pmOr see that BB brings in portal guys every year and go elsewhere.

UNC brought in one grad transfer last year, who played on the second midfield.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 9:01 pmI am not sure UNC has brought in “tons”…..Njlaxx11 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 6:07 pmThe portal has benefitted many teams, not just Rutgers. Was Gray a 2020 or 2019 transfer? Not sure 2 in 5 years is “tons”.Jldlax wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 9:03 pmUNC brought in one grad transfer last year, who played on the second midfield.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 9:01 pmI am not sure UNC has brought in “tons”…..Njlaxx11 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 6:07 pmThe portal has benefitted many teams, not just Rutgers. Re: Transfer Portal 2022
2020 was his first year there. So a team brings in one of the best players in college lacrosse as a transfer, sorry I got my numbers wrong. Add Notre Dame to the list as well.Typical Lax Dad wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 9:05 pmWas Gray a 2020 or 2019 transfer? Re: Transfer Portal 2022
UNC brought in 3 guys over the last couple years, and only 1 of the "one and done" graduate transfers. Gray in the summer of 2019. Connor McCarthy from Princeton and Colin Loughead from BU for 2021. I think Breschi has been smart about who he brings in from the portal. I could see him utilizing it more for 2022, considering the 1st midfield and close defense are both pretty wide open.
Maryland makes the most sense from a lacrosse standpoint for Khan.

No problem. Duke, Maryland and ND tap the transfer market more often. UNC, not so much. Cornell and Brown also bring in the occasional transfer.Njlaxx11 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 9:18 pm2020 was his first year there. Re: Transfer Portal 2022
I may be getting old, but I cannot recall any transfers into Brown or Cornell in the past decade, at least impact guys. Penn and Yale have been active in recent years with TD and Burkinshaw.

Re: Transfer Portal 2022
NJ HS players go elsewhere anyway. It amazes me how poorly BB has fared in luring NJ recruits during his tenure. RU has much to offer at nearly half the price of its out of state competition. Of course, BB's conference record at RU could be the cause as well.backerzone wrote: ↑Fri Jun 18, 2021 6:03 pmOr see that BB brings in portal guys every year and go elsewhere.

Tuition is of little importance in the world of basketball recruiting. They only recruit on full scholarshipsAOD wrote: ↑Sat Jun 19, 2021 5:37 amNJ HS players go elsewhere anyway.
