This is all spot on...you clearly are connected...I am hearing the same things from my source...1766 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 5:15 pm Couple of things:
1) There are already plans for a lacrosse only stadium, with Yurcak being dedicated to soccer only. It will come in two phases with the first being what will be a practice field. The next phase will be the stadium build out around this. The turf will be laid in 22 sometime. People are pushing for prior to the season starting. The team will continue playing in the stadium until such time as the lacrosse only stadium is built. The team loves playing in the stadium so there is no anxiety there. This has long been part of the master planning. With Schiano back, things are getting quickly accelerated. A new football only facility, including an indoor practice facility, is also being designed. The Bubble will kept and used by the lacrosse team.
2) Kirst is still in play for another year. Unless you've been living under a rock, the new, softer NCAA is almost a rubber stamp to allow these late date redshirts. It's certainly not a done deal yet, but if it happens, don't be at all surprised.
If he comes back, with all that is coming back on defense, including new additions, throwing Kirst back in goal will have that side of the ball as one of the best in the country.
I would keep an eye out for possibly two more xfers. The staff is working incredibly hard.
RU is not done...

One of the best defenses in the country? It would be great if Kirst comes back, and they are athletic and physical for sure. But they had the 34th best scoring defense in the country. They’ll be in great shape, but they still have a lot of work to do to be elite.1766 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 5:15 pm Couple of things:

Two things.
1) Run and gun offenses produce more scoring opportunities for the opponent. Naturally there is more scoring, especially when you consider point 2.
2) That number is based off of an all Big Ten schedule. Throw in opponents from aspirational conferences and those numbers look much different.
Lehigh averaged 14 goals a game. They were held to 5. UNC was held to 4 less than their season average in an OT game. Kirst, or Burgdorf for that matter, will be formidable. Best D in the country? I would concede perhaps not. One of? Yes, imo. It's got everything. Experienced, productive Dmids, 2 highly regarded long poles, and what will be 3 athletic, aggressive defensemen who will understand the system. Throw in the production Kirst provided and you go to battle with anyone with that.

It would be a typical redshirt, applied for retroactively. The only question is, is he eligible for one. A number of people believe yes. We will all know soon enough.wgdsr wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 9:55 pmunder what rule or exception would connor kirst be coming back to play? if you know.1766 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 5:15 pm Couple of things:

there are redshirts for not playing at all, and hardship redshirts, which encompass several things.1766 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:37 pmIt would be a typical redshirt, applied for retroactively. I've not asked, nor do I care. This guy HATES the idea of *Colin Kirst coming back for another year, idk who peed in your cherrios. Kid finally found a home and got in opportunity in the same crease his dad used to play in but wgdsr won't stand for it unless he gets 6 points of ID on why this kid should get an extra year in a time where it has never been easier to get an extra year in the history of the NCAA...wgdsr wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 9:55 pmunder what rule or exception would connor kirst be coming back to play? if you know.1766 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 5:15 pm Couple of things:

Re: Rutgers 2021
Why would Burgdorf transfer in if there’s a chance Kirst comes back? Kid is two-year starter in the Big East and a 2020 AA—he’s not going anywhere to play second fiddle.
Re: Rutgers 2021
no idea why you think i have any problem with him or anyone else getting a year that's within the rules (which will be the only way he gets one).jerseyjames wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:47 pmThis guy HATES the idea of *Colin Kirst coming back for another year, idk who peed in your cherrios. Re: Rutgers 2021
The NCAA made modifications to rules on what constitutes a season and made it easier for the athlete to play more, ie the transfer portal as well (probably a ploy to distract from the pay the player discussion, I digress) Art Sitkowski the RU starting QB a few years ago STARTED the first 4 or 5 games of the season before Ash was fired, withdrew from the team midseason to preserve a year of eligibility so if were talking about 19 min in Feb yea I think the kid isn't gonna have a problem getting that year back... So I can't give you the exact bylaw or the section and sub section of the rule but things like this happen often in recent yearswgdsr wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:56 pmno idea why you think i have any problem with him or anyone else getting a year that's within the rules (which will be the only way he gets one).jerseyjames wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:47 pmThis guy HATES the idea of *Colin Kirst coming back for another year, idk who peed in your cherrios. Re: Rutgers 2021
and i guarantee if he preserved a year of eligibility, it wasn't more than 4 games for art sitkowski, whoever he is, because you don't know the rules.jerseyjames wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 11:06 pmThe NCAA made modifications to rules on what constitutes a season and made it easier for the athlete to play more, ie the transfer portal as well (probably a ploy to distract from the pay the player discussion, I digress) Art Sitkowski the RU starting QB a few years ago STARTED the first 4 or 5 games of the season before Ash was fired, withdrew from the team midseason to preserve a year of eligibility so if were talking about 19 min in Feb yea I think the kid isn't gonna have a problem getting that year back... Football changed a couple of seasons ago. A lot of kids get 4 games and can keep their redshirt. Cousin’s son took at redshirt at Kentucky.jerseyjames wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 11:06 pmThe NCAA made modifications to rules on what constitutes a season and made it easier for the athlete to play more, ie the transfer portal as well (probably a ploy to distract from the pay the player discussion, I digress) Art Sitkowski the RU starting QB a few years ago STARTED the first 4 or 5 games of the season before Ash was fired, withdrew from the team midseason to preserve a year of eligibility so if were talking about 19 min in Feb yea I think the kid isn't gonna have a problem getting that year back... They were in the Top 10 in defensive efficiency. They were 34th in scoring D because they couldn’t win faceoffs and played a lot of D.InsiderRoll wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 10:15 pmOne of the best defenses in the country?
